Is Money Network's 'My Banking Direct' page legitimate for EDD SDI direct deposit setup?
I'm setting up my direct deposit for my SDI benefits and just got redirected to this page with both Money Network and 'My Banking Direct' yellow logos when trying to enter my banking info. Has anyone else gone through this? Is this actually legit or some kind of phishing scam? I'm super paranoid after hearing about all the EDD fraud happening lately. The whole process has me confused with all these different websites, apps, and portals just to get my disability money transferred. Anyone who's recently set up direct deposit through Money Network - did you also see this My Banking Direct page? Really don't want to enter my bank details into some fake site. Thanks for any guidance!

Yes, it's legitimate. Money Network partnered with My Banking Direct to handle the direct deposit transfers for EDD benefits including SDI. I went through the same process last month. As long as you accessed it through the official EDD portal links and not from an email, it should be fine. The transition from the old system has been confusing for everyone!

•Oh thank goodness, I was about to abandon the whole process. Did you have to wait long after submitting your bank info before the direct deposits started working? I've been on paper checks for 3 weeks and it's such a hassle.

I HATE this new Money Network system!!! Been on disability since January and everything was fine until they forced this switch. My last payment is 2 WEEKS LATE and when I called they just said "it's processing" whatever that means! And yes that My Banking Direct page is their official partner but the whole thing feels sketchy to me. Their customer service is USELESS.

I understand your concern about the legitimacy of the site. Money Network is indeed the official EDD payment processor, and they use My Banking Direct for handling direct deposit setup. Here are some verification steps you can take: 1. Make sure you accessed the page through official EDD links (not email links) 2. Verify the URL starts with https:// and has a lock icon 3. Check that the web address matches official EDD communications 4. Call EDD's customer service to confirm if you're still unsure The transition has been confusing for many claimants, but the partnership is legitimate. Just be careful not to enter your information on any sites you accessed through emails or text messages.

•Thanks for the detailed response! I did go through the official EDD portal, so that's reassuring. The URL has https and a lock icon too. I'll proceed with setting up my direct deposit then. Really appreciate the verification steps!

This reminds me of when I had knee surgery last year and had to navigate the whole EDD portal mess. Everything kept changing and I swear they intentionally make it confusing! I finally got my disability payments but had to call like 12 times and wait forever. Good luck with the Money Network thing!

•Exactly! They make it IMPOSSIBLE to just get your benefits. I think they hope people will give up so they don't have to pay.

If ur having trouble reaching EDD about this I used a service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual human at EDD when I needed to verify my direct deposit was set up correctly. Saved me hours of busy signals and hangups. Just go to claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ?si=1hcSq3KFtCr4oAmd that shows how it works. Worth it when you need answers about your money situation.

•I might try this if I run into more problems. I've been trying to call EDD all week with no luck. Does it really work to get through to someone who can help with the Money Network stuff specifically?

•Yep it got me through to someone who knew about the Money Network transition. They connected me with the payment processing department who confirmed everything was set up right. Better than waiting on hold for hours!

I was confused about this exact same thing when setting up my pregnancy disability payments! The My Banking Direct page is legitimate - it's part of their new system. I called EDD (took forever to get through) and they confirmed it's their official partner for handling direct deposits. I've received two payments successfully since setting it up, so it definitely works. The whole transition has been poorly communicated though.

•That's really helpful to hear you've actually received payments after setting it up! How long did it take between entering your bank info and getting your first direct deposit? I'm trying to budget and figure out when I might actually see the money.

•It took about 5 business days for my first direct deposit to process after I entered my banking information. They told me the first one can take longer because they do verification tests on the account. After that, payments came right on schedule. Hope that helps with your budgeting!

Just as an update for anyone finding this thread later - EDD has now published an official FAQ page about the Money Network and My Banking Direct partnership. You can find it on the main EDD website under "Payment Information." It confirms that this is their legitimate payment processing system for all disability and unemployment claims in 2025 going forward.

•Thanks for sharing this update! I successfully set up my direct deposit and received my first payment yesterday. The system works but they really should have communicated these changes better.
