Error e324 on CA EDD portal preventing Paid Family Leave claim setup - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble setting up my Paid Family Leave claim. I keep getting error e324 on the claimant registration page of the CA EDD portal. I'm trying to start my leave to bond with my new foster children, but this error is stopping me from moving forward. I've already checked and can successfully log into both my EDD portal and ID.me accounts. It's just this next step that's got me stuck. Has anyone else run into this issue or know how to fix it?

Ugh, the EDD system is such a nightmare! 🤦♂️ I had a similar issue when I was trying to file for unemployment last year. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird portal errors.

•clearing cache didnt work for me when i had issues. ended up having to use a different browser altogether. try that if the cache thing doesnt work

•Update: Tried both clearing cache and using a different browser. Still no luck 😞 This is so frustrating!

Congrats on your new foster children! 💖 As for the error, have you tried calling the EDD directly? I know it's a pain, but sometimes talking to a real person is the only way to get these things sorted out.

•Thank you! ❤️ And yeah, I've been trying to call but keep getting the dreaded 'all our lines are busy' message. It's like trying to win the lottery just to talk to someone!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through if youre one of the first callers of the day.

Error e324? Never heard of that one before. Have you tried googling it? Sometimes other people post solutions to specific error codes on forums or blogs.

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD system is about as user-friendly as a cactus wearing boxing gloves. 🌵🥊 Here's what I'd suggest: 1. Double-check all your personal info is correct in both EDD and ID.me 2. Try accessing the portal during off-peak hours (like early morning or late night) 3. Make sure your browser is up to date 4. If all else fails, keep calling EDD. I know it sucks, but persistence is key with these government systems. Hang in there, and don't let the bureaucracy win!

•Thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try accessing during off-peak hours. Didn't even think of that. And lol at the cactus analogy - spot on! 😂

•This is solid advice. I'd add: screenshot the error message. If you do get through to someone, having the exact error can help them troubleshoot faster.

Hey, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Just sharing what helped me, take it or leave it 🤷♂️

•I've used it too. It's legit. Expensive, yeah, but worth it when you're desperate.

This might sound weird, but check your pop-up blocker. I had issues with the EDD site because it was blocking some necessary pop-ups. Took me forever to figure out why nothing was working!

OP, any luck yet? Keep us posted!

•Still working on it. Tried a bunch of the suggestions here but no breakthrough yet. Might have to bite the bullet and use that calling service someone mentioned...

I actually had the exact same e324 error when trying to set up my PFL claim last month! What finally worked for me was going into my ID.me account and making sure ALL my personal information matched EXACTLY what was on file with EDD - down to middle initials, address formatting, everything. Even tiny discrepancies can trigger that error. Also try logging out of both accounts completely, waiting about 30 minutes, then logging back in. The system seems to need time to sync sometimes. Hope this helps and congrats on your new family members! 🎉
