EDD website shows claim disqualified, but rep says it's not - Anyone else experienced this discrepancy?
Hey everyone, I'm having a weird issue with the unemployment website. It says my claim is disqualified, but when I called last week, the rep told me it's not actually disqualified. The website still hasn't updated though. This is messing with my benefits and I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, classic EDD nonsense. Their website is always out of sync with reality. I had a similar issue last year - took them like 3 weeks to update my status online after I got approved over the phone. Hang in there!

ā¢3 weeks? You got lucky! Mine took 2 months to update š EDD needs to get their act together

I've been dealing with EDD for what feels like forever, and here's what I've learned: ⢠Always trust what the rep tells you over the website. Their online system is notoriously slow to update. ⢠Keep calling regularly (like once a week) to check on your status. ⢠Document everything! Write down who you talked to, when, and what they said. ⢠If possible, try to get any decisions or updates in writing (email or mail). ⢠Don't stop certifying for benefits, even if the website shows 'disqualified'. ⢠If it goes on for more than a few weeks, consider filing an appeal. Sometimes that kicks them into action. Hope this helps! The system is frustrating, but don't give up. You'll get through this! šŖ

ā¢Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start documenting everything. Quick question - how do I go about filing an appeal if it comes to that?

ā¢To file an appeal, you'll need to fill out the 'Appeal Form' on the EDD website. Look for it under the 'Forms and Publications' section. Make sure to explain your situation clearly and include any evidence you have. Good luck!

This happened to me too! I panicked at first, but it turned out to be a glitch. Keep certifying and calling. It'll sort itself out eventually. The EDD is just... special š¤”

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting for hours. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me so much time and stress. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

ā¢I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. I was desperate after trying to get through for weeks. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my issue resolved. Time is money, you know?

ā¢Just used it today actually. Worked like a charm. Beats sitting on hold for 3 hours any day!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things along with EDD. Worth a shot if you're stuck!

ā¢I hadn't thought of that! How would I go about contacting them?

ā¢Just google '[your area] assembly member'. Most have a 'contact us' form on their website where you can explain your situation. They often have staff dedicated to helping with EDD issues.

ā¢Thanks! I'll give that a try if things don't improve soon.
