EDD unemployment payment delayed 2 weeks - Do I need to certify again?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. It's been 2 weeks since my last unemployment payment and I'm not sure if I need to do anything. Do I have to certify again or something? I haven't gotten any messages from EDD about it. Anyone else dealing with this?

Bruh, I feel you. EDD be playing games with our lives fr 💀

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your UI Online account ASAP 2. Check for any pending certifications 3. If you see one, fill it out immediately 4. If you don't see one, there might be an issue with your claim 5. Call EDD to check on your status (good luck with that lol) Remember, you MUST certify every two weeks, even if you haven't received a reminder. Set a calendar alert on your phone or something. Trust me, it'll save you a lot of headaches. Also, keep an eye on your inbox for any messages from EDD. Sometimes they send important info there. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! I'm gonna do this right now. You're a lifesaver! 🙏

This should be pinned at the top of the sub tbh. So many ppl asking the same question everyday

Solid advice! Also, don't forget to check your spam folder for any missed EDD emails. They sometimes end up there.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy af. Is this legit?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😤

I know it sounds weird, but I swear it's legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How does it work exactly? Do they give you a specific time to be ready for the call?

0 coins

I used it too, and they give you a window to expect the call. It worked for me, but I understand it's not for everyone.

Have you checked if there's been any changes to the unemployment rules lately? Sometimes they switch things up and don't tell anyone 🙄

0 coins

Right?! It's like they hope we'll just figure it out on our own. Always double check recent updates online.

DONT FORGET TO CERTIFY EVERY TWO WEEKS!!!! I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY 😭😭😭

0 coins

Same here! Now I have reminders set up on my phone so I never forget.

0 coins

Yeah, you definitely need to certify every two weeks to keep getting payments. It's like clockwork. Have you checked your UI Online account?

0 coins

Oh man, I totally forgot about that! 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for the reminder. I'll go check it out now.

Same boat here. I missed a certification once and it was a NIGHTMARE to get it sorted out. Don't make the same mistake!

am i the only 1 who thinks its crazy we gotta jump through all these hoops just to get money we're entitled to? 🤔

0 coins

Nope, you're not alone. The whole system is broken af

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage us from claiming our benefits

0 coins

It's a flawed system for sure. They need to make it more user-friendly and transparent.

0 coins

Ugh, the EDD system is such a mess. I swear they make it confusing on purpose. 🙄

0 coins

For real tho. Its like they want us to fail or somethin

Preach! 🙌 I've been dealing with their BS for months now. It's a full-time job just trying to get your benefits!

In response to your original question, yes, you absolutely need to certify every two weeks to avoid interruptions in your unemployment benefits from the EDD. The process is part of their system to ensure you're still eligible to receive aid. If you miss a certification period, it can delay your payments and might require you to go through extra steps to rectify the situation. It's crucial to log into your UI Online account and check for any pending certifications. If there are none, there might be a glitch or an issue that needs addressing. While calling EDD can be a daunting task due to high call volumes, some people have found success with tools like Claimyr, which streamline the process of getting a live agent on the line. However, this service isn't free and costs $20, which may not be feasible for everyone. On the flip side, some view these extra services as exploitive given the situation, but others commend them for providing a solution to a frustrating problem. Ultimately, staying on top of your certifications by setting reminders is key. Always check for any updates or changes in EDD policies, and don't hesitate to seek help from the community here if you encounter issues.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be proactive and get someone on the phone to sort things out.

0 coins

I've tried, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😫

0 coins

Lol good luck with that. I spent 3 days trying to get through. EDD phone lines are a joke

0 coins

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get lucky

0 coins

Try using speakerphone while you're on hold. That way, you can go about your day and just pick up when they answer.

Anyone else notice how the website always seems to crash right when you need to certify? 🤔 Coincidence? I think not!

It's like they WANT us to give up. Stay persistent, everyone!
