EDD unemployment payment delayed 2 weeks - Do I need to certify again?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. It's been 2 weeks since my last unemployment payment and I'm not sure if I need to do anything. Do I have to certify again or something? I haven't gotten any messages from EDD about it. Anyone else dealing with this?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your UI Online account ASAP 2. Check for any pending certifications 3. If you see one, fill it out immediately 4. If you don't see one, there might be an issue with your claim 5. Call EDD to check on your status (good luck with that lol) Remember, you MUST certify every two weeks, even if you haven't received a reminder. Set a calendar alert on your phone or something. Trust me, it'll save you a lot of headaches. Also, keep an eye on your inbox for any messages from EDD. Sometimes they send important info there. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

•Solid advice! Also, don't forget to check your spam folder for any missed EDD emails. They sometimes end up there.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•How does it work exactly? Do they give you a specific time to be ready for the call?

•I used it too, and they give you a window to expect the call. It worked for me, but I understand it's not for everyone.

Have you checked if there's been any changes to the unemployment rules lately? Sometimes they switch things up and don't tell anyone 🙄

•Right?! It's like they hope we'll just figure it out on our own. Always double check recent updates online.

Yeah, you definitely need to certify every two weeks to keep getting payments. It's like clockwork. Have you checked your UI Online account?

In response to your original question, yes, you absolutely need to certify every two weeks to avoid interruptions in your unemployment benefits from the EDD. The process is part of their system to ensure you're still eligible to receive aid. If you miss a certification period, it can delay your payments and might require you to go through extra steps to rectify the situation. It's crucial to log into your UI Online account and check for any pending certifications. If there are none, there might be a glitch or an issue that needs addressing. While calling EDD can be a daunting task due to high call volumes, some people have found success with tools like Claimyr, which streamline the process of getting a live agent on the line. However, this service isn't free and costs $20, which may not be feasible for everyone. On the flip side, some view these extra services as exploitive given the situation, but others commend them for providing a solution to a frustrating problem. Ultimately, staying on top of your certifications by setting reminders is key. Always check for any updates or changes in EDD policies, and don't hesitate to seek help from the community here if you encounter issues.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get lucky

•Try using speakerphone while you're on hold. That way, you can go about your day and just pick up when they answer.

Anyone else notice how the website always seems to crash right when you need to certify? 🤔 Coincidence? I think not!
