EDD shows wrong return-to-work date, doctor can't access account. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my EDD claim. My doctor extended my leave until the end of May, but when I check on EDD it still shows my return-to-work date as March. I called my doctor's office, and they said they can't access my account and that I need to call EDD directly. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, classic EDD mess-up. I had a similar issue last year. You definitely need to call them and get it straightened out ASAP. The problem is actually getting through to a real person... 🙄

•For real tho. I spent like 3 weeks trying to get thru. Its ridiculous how hard it is to talk to someone 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when they had someone

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling EDD until you get through. Use the 1-800-300-5616 number. 2. When you finally reach someone, explain the situation clearly. 3. Ask them to update your claim with the new end date from your doctor. 4. Request a confirmation number or reference for the call. 5. Follow up with a written request through your EDD online account. If they give you any trouble, ask to speak with a tier 2 representative. They have more authority to make changes. Also, make sure you have a copy of the doctor's note extending your leave. You might need to fax or upload it to your account. Good luck! The system's a mess, but persistence pays off.

•This is solid advice. Wish I had known this when I was dealing with my claim issues last year.

EDD is such a joke. They never update anything on time and then we're the ones who suffer. 🤡 system fr

Quick question - did your doctor submit the updated disability form (DE 2501) to EDD? Sometimes the issue is on the medical provider's end, not EDD.

•You know, I'm not sure. I'll def check with my doc's office about this. Thanks for bringing it up!

Hot tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through early in the morning. Also, Wednesdays seem to be less busy for some reason 🤷♂️
