EDD payments stopped after initial payment - no explanation. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I certified for unemployment benefits and got my initial payment, but now the payments have suddenly stopped. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what could be causing it or what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. My payments stopped out of nowhere too. Did you get any letters or emails from EDD explaining why?

Nope, haven't received anything from them. That's why I'm so confused 😕

Check your spam folder! Sometimes important EDD emails end up there.

This happened to me last month. Turns out there was an identity verification issue. You might want to log into your EDD account and see if there are any pending tasks or messages.

Have you tried calling EDD? I know its a pain, but sometimes thats the only way to get answers.

I've been trying, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

I used it too. Definitely worth the $20 imo

Sometimes payments stop if you reported earnings or didn't certify correctly. Double-check your last few certifications to make sure everything's accurate.

I'll go back and review them. Thanks for the suggestion!

Okay, listen up folks. I've been through this rodeo before, and here's what you need to know: 1. First, check your EDD account for any pending tasks or messages. Sometimes they need additional info and won't tell you directly. 2. Review your certifications. Make sure you didn't accidentally report earnings or answer a question wrong. 3. Look for any letters or emails from EDD. Check your spam folder too! 4. If you can't find any obvious issues, you'll need to contact EDD. Yes, it's a pain, but it's necessary. 5. While waiting to get through to EDD, make sure you keep certifying for benefits even if you're not getting paid. This will help you get backpay if it turns out to be an EDD error. 6. If you're really stuck, consider contacting your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Remember, the system is overloaded and glitchy. Stay persistent and document everything. Good luck!

This might sound weird, but have you tried logging out of your EDD account and logging back in? Sometimes the system glitches and doesn't show updated info until you do this.

Really? I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the tip!

I hate to be that guy, but are you sure you're still eligible? Any changes in your employment status?

No changes that I'm aware of. Still unemployed and looking for work. 😔
