EDD payments not issuing after recertification - help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payments. I recertified like I'm supposed to, but the payments aren't being issued. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what could be causing the delay or what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating! Have you checked your account online to see if there's any pending issues or notifications?

Yeah, I checked but there's nothing showing up. It's like they just forgot about me or something 😫

Sometimes the online system doesn't show everything. You might need to call and speak to a rep directly. Good luck getting through tho 🙄

I had a similar issue last month. Turns out there was a verification hold on my account that I didn't know about. Definitely try calling them, even though it's a pain in the a$$.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot!

Really? I didn't even think of that. Which platform works best?

Twitter seems to be the most responsive in my experience. Just be careful not to share any personal info publicly!

Listen up, folks. I've been through this rodeo before and here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check your certification answers. Sometimes a single wrong answer can hold up your payment. 2. Look for any pending forms or questionnaires in your online account. They don't always notify you about these. 3. If you can't find anything wrong, you NEED to call. Yes, it sucks, but it's necessary. 4. When you call, ask specifically if there are any flags or holds on your account. 5. If they say everything looks fine, ask them to escalate the issue to a specialist. 6. Keep a record of every call - date, time, rep name, and what they told you. 7. If it's been more than 3 weeks since you should have been paid, consider contacting your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them forget about you!

Great advice, but man, it shouldn't be this hard to get money we're entitled to 😤

Quick question - how do you contact your state rep? Is there a specific way to do this for unemployment issues?

You can usually find your rep's contact info on your state legislature's website. Just google '[your state] find my representative'. Most have a form specifically for constituent services. Explain your situation clearly and concisely.

Let's stay focused on helping OP with their issue. We can discuss systemic problems another time.

Hey, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's steep when you're already struggling with unemployment

I get the skepticism, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth it for me, but everyone's situation is different.

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about 45 minutes for them to get through, then they called me. Way better than spending all day hitting redial!

This might sound weird, but check if your bank info is still correct in your account. My friend's payments got held up because somehow his direct deposit info got messed up.

Oh snap, I didn't even think to check that. Thanks for the tip!

Unpopular opinion: maybe try looking for a job instead of relying on unemployment? 🤷♂️
