EDD not auto-paying weekly benefits - forced to call every time for payment. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with my unemployment payments. I'm supposed to be getting paid weekly, but it's not happening automatically. I have to call them every single time just to get the money into my account. It's so frustrating! Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to fix it or at least make the process smoother?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been dealing with the same issue for months now. It's like they want us to jump through hoops just to get what we're entitled to. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't tried that yet. Do you know how I can find out who my local rep is?

•Sure thing! Just google '[your state] find my representative' and it should pop up. Most of them have contact forms on their websites. Good luck!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The system is already screwing us over and now we gotta pay just to talk to someone? 😤

•I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and frustration. I was spending hours on hold before. For me, it was worth it.

•How does it work exactly? Do they give you a specific time when you'll get the call?

•Yeah, once they get an agent on the line, they immediately call you. You just have to be ready to answer when they do. It usually takes about 2-3 hours in my experience.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this bs for almost a year: 1. Document EVERYTHING. Keep a log of every call, every letter, every interaction. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Use the online portal to send messages. Sometimes they respond faster there. 4. If possible, try to get the name and ID number of any rep you talk to. 5. Check if there are any known system issues or updates that might be causing delays. 6. Consider filing a complaint with the Department of Labor if it continues. 7. Join Facebook groups or other online communities for your state's unemployment. Sometimes you can get insider tips. Hope this helps someone. Stay strong, we're all in this together! 💪

I swear the whole system is designed to make us give up. Stay strong OP, don't let them win!

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're hoping we'll just get tired and stop claiming what we're owed.

Not sure if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was flagging my account for review every week. Took forever to get it sorted, but once they fixed it on their end, the payments started coming regularly. Might be worth asking if there's a technical issue on your account.

•That's interesting, I hadn't even considered it might be a technical glitch. I'll definitely ask about that next time I call. Thanks!
