EDD disability payment delay since July - Can't upload docs online, system says max files reached but haven't uploaded any. Help!
I've been on disability since July and still haven't received a payment. It's so frustrating! I tried to upload documents online like they said I could, but when I log in, there's no option to do it. When I click on the appeal attachment, it says I've already attached the maximum number of files, but I haven't uploaded anything yet! Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to actually submit these documents or get through to someone who can help?

Ugh, the EDD system is such a mess! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a pain, but sometimes it's the only way to get things sorted out.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone...

•I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD and upload documents. 2. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then log in again. Sometimes it's just a glitch. 3. If that doesn't work, draft a formal letter explaining your situation. Include your claim number, contact info, and a detailed explanation of the upload issue. 4. Mail this letter along with copies (NOT originals) of your documents to: Employment Development Department PO Box 826880 Sacramento, CA 94280-0001 5. Send it via certified mail so you have proof of delivery. 6. While waiting, keep trying to call. Use the tips others have suggested here. 7. If you still can't get through, contact your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but persistence pays off.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: take screenshots of the error messages you're getting when trying to upload. Could be helpful later.

Plot twist: What if we all show up at the EDD office with our documents? They can't ignore us all! 👀

Hey, not sure if this helps, but I had a similar issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in their system affecting people who filed in July. Might be worth mentioning that specifically when you talk to them.

•Oh really? That's good to know. Did they fix it for you?

•Yeah, eventually. Took about 2 weeks after I finally got through to someone. Keep at it!

unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just get jobs instead of relying on the government 🤷♂️
