EDD Error Code When Starting New Claim - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble starting a new claim on the EDD website. I can log in just fine, but when I try to start a new claim, I keep getting an error code. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any tips on how to get past it? I really need to file this claim ASAP.

I found a way to solve EDD website claim filing error, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GYBsSReUgc

Ugh, classic EDD website issues. 🙄 Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird glitches.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try and report back.

•This worked for me last time! Also, try using a different browser if clearing cache doesn't help.

I had the same problem last month. Turns out it was because my claim year had ended and I needed to file a new claim instead of reopening my old one. Might be worth checking if that applies to you?

The EDD website is such a joke. I swear they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from filing claims. 😤

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're stuck in the 90s or something.

•Cmon guys, its not that bad. At least we have an online system. My cousin in another state has to do everything by mail!

•@profile 6 Just because it could be worse doesn't mean it's good enough. We deserve better.

Here's what worked for me when I had this issue: 1. Log out completely 2. Clear browser cache and cookies 3. Restart your computer 4. Log back in and try again 5. If it still doesn't work, try using a different browser or even a different device if possible If none of that works, you might need to call them directly. Good luck!

•Saving this for later. The EDD website is so finicky, it's good to have a troubleshooting guide handy.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play, ya know?

•I've used it too. Felt kinda weird paying for it, but man, it was worth every penny when I finally got my issue resolved.

Have you checked if there's any scheduled maintenance on the EDD website? Sometimes they do updates that can cause temporary issues.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar problem and it turned out my account was flagged for identity verification. Might be worth checking if that's the case for you too.

•Oh man, I hope that's not it. How did you find out your account was flagged?

•I got a message in my EDD inbox about it. If you don't see anything there, you're probably good.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? 😂

I had this exact same issue a few weeks ago! What finally worked for me was logging in during off-peak hours (like early morning around 6-7 AM). The EDD system seems to get overloaded during busy times and throws random error codes. Also make sure you're using Chrome or Firefox - I noticed Safari gave me more problems. If you're still stuck after trying the browser fixes everyone mentioned, the early morning login trick might be your best bet. Hope this helps!

I've been dealing with EDD website issues for months now and it's so frustrating! A few things that have helped me: First, definitely try the browser cache clearing that others mentioned. Second, I've noticed the website works better on weekdays between 2-4 PM when traffic is lower. Third, if you keep getting error codes, try accessing the site through a VPN - sometimes it's a regional server issue. Also, make sure JavaScript is enabled in your browser settings. The EDD system is super picky about that. If all else fails, you can try filing by phone, but good luck getting through! The wait times are insane. Keep us posted on what works for you - we're all in this together! 💪

•This is super helpful, thanks for sharing all these tips! I'm new to dealing with EDD and honestly feeling pretty overwhelmed by all the technical troubleshooting needed just to file a basic claim. The VPN suggestion is interesting - I never would have thought of that. Do you have any specific VPN recommendations that worked well for you? Also, when you say "filing by phone," is there a specific number that's better to call than others? I've heard horror stories about the wait times but might be worth trying if the website keeps acting up.

I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to jump in because I had the exact same error code issue last month! What ended up working for me was a combination of things people mentioned here. First, I cleared my browser cache and cookies like Dylan suggested, then I tried Nina's step-by-step approach. But the game changer was actually Lucas Adams' tip about logging in during off-peak hours - I tried at 6:30 AM and it went through immediately! I think the EDD servers just get overwhelmed during normal business hours. Also want to second Giovanni's point about JavaScript - make sure it's enabled. The whole system is honestly a mess, but don't give up! Sometimes it's just about finding the right time and browser combo. Hope this helps and good luck with your claim! 🤞

•Thanks so much for sharing your experience! As someone who's completely new to this whole EDD process, it's really reassuring to hear from people who've actually gotten through the system successfully. The early morning login tip seems to be coming up a lot in this thread - I'm definitely going to try that tomorrow at 6 AM. Quick question though - when you say you cleared your cache and cookies, did you do that right before trying to log in, or did you restart your browser/computer in between? Just want to make sure I'm doing it in the right order. Also really appreciate everyone being so helpful here instead of just complaining about how broken the system is (though I totally get the frustration!). This community is a lifesaver for navigating this mess! 🙏

Just wanted to chime in as someone who's been through this exact nightmare! I struggled with the same error codes for weeks before I finally got my claim submitted. What worked for me was a combination of several things mentioned here: I cleared my cache/cookies, restarted my computer, and then logged in at around 6 AM like Lucas Adams suggested. The early morning timing really seems to be key - the system is much more stable when fewer people are trying to use it. Also, make sure you're not using any browser extensions or ad blockers as those can sometimes interfere with the EDD site's functionality. One more tip that helped me - if you get an error, don't immediately try again. Wait at least 15-20 minutes before your next attempt, otherwise it might temporarily lock you out. The whole system is frustrating but hang in there! Once you find the right combination of timing and browser settings, it should go through. Rooting for you! 💪
