EDD Account Login Issues & Switching to Check Payments - Need Advice!
Hey everyone, I'm trying to help my mom with her EDD account and we're running into some issues. We can't seem to log in to her online account and we need to update her claim. Also, she wants to switch from direct deposit to check payments. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any advice on what to say when we finally get through to an agent?

Ugh, EDD is such a nightmare to deal with. I've been there, buddy. Here's what I'd suggest: ⢠For the login issues, try the 'Forgot Username/Password' option on the EDD website. If that doesn't work, you'll have to call them. ⢠When you get through, explain that you're calling on behalf of your mom. They might ask for her permission to speak with you. ⢠Ask for a claim status update and if any documents are needed. ⢠For switching to check payments, just ask them directly. They can usually do it over the phone. Good luck! The hold times are brutal, so be prepared to wait.

ā¢Thanks so much for the detailed response! This is really helpful. Did you have any trouble getting them to talk to you on behalf of someone else?

ā¢No problem! In my experience, they usually just ask to speak to the person youre calling for briefly to confirm its okay. Then they'll talk to you. Just have your mom ready to hop on the call for a sec.

ā¢This is great advice! I'd add that writing down all your questions before the call helps a ton. It's easy to forget stuff when you finally get through.

ā¢Same boat here. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them š

ā¢Have you guys tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

ā¢Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Pro tip: if u cant log in online, sometimes its cuz the system is down. Try again in a few hours or the next day. EDD's website is about as reliable as a chocolate teapot š«ā

Hey OP, when you do get through, make sure to ask if theres any pending stuff on the account. Sometimes they dont tell u unless you ask specifically. Also, switching to checks might take a few weeks to process, so plan accordingly!

ā¢Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely ask about pending items. Any idea how long the switch to checks usually takes?

ā¢In my experience, it took about 2-3 weeks. But I've heard it can vary. Def ask the rep for a timeframe when you call!
