If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

my cousin just had this same problem!!! she ended up not doing the work cuz her doc wouldnt sign off on it. said somethin about liability issues if she approved work during recovery period. maybe depends on what kinda birth u had?

That's a good point - I had a pretty straightforward delivery, but I guess every doctor has different comfort levels with approving work. I'll definitely ask at my appointment.

Just wanted to add another perspective as someone who navigated this recently. I was on SDI after my delivery and ended up doing some freelance graphic design work (also 1099). Here's what worked for me: 1. Got written approval from my OB first - she was actually supportive since it was just computer work from home 2. Called EDD using that Claimyr service (totally worth the fee btw) and spoke to a rep who walked me through the partial benefit calculation 3. Kept detailed records of every hour worked and dollar earned 4. My benefits were reduced but not eliminated - ended up being worth it financially The key thing the EDD rep told me was that as long as the work doesn't interfere with your recovery and your doctor approves it, part-time remote work during pregnancy disability is generally okay. Just be 100% transparent about reporting income. One warning though - make sure you understand how it might affect your PFL transition. I had to provide extra documentation when I switched over, but it wasn't as bad as some people make it sound. Good luck mama!

This is really helpful, thank you! It sounds like you had a much smoother experience than some others here. Can I ask what kind of documentation you had to provide when transitioning to PFL? I want to be prepared for that part too since it seems like that's where a lot of people run into issues.

i had twins too congrats!! mine are 3 now. the first year is sooo hard especially with two! my work tried to force me back at 8 weeks which was ridiculous, i could barely walk still from my c-section and was sleeping like 2 hours a night between the two babies. hang in there mama!!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this stress on top of recovering from complications with twins! As someone who works in benefits administration, I want to add a few important points to the excellent advice already given: First, definitely pursue the SDI extension (DE 2525XX form) as your primary option. California is generally accommodating with postpartum complications, especially with multiples where recovery can be significantly longer. Second, regarding your employer's "staffing changes" comments - document these conversations immediately. If they terminate you while you're still medically disabled and have provided proper medical certification, it could violate several California laws including CFRA (California Family Rights Act) and potentially the Fair Employment and Housing Act. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet - you might also want to explore whether you qualify for Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefits to bond with your twins if you haven't used that yet. PFL is separate from SDI and you can use it after your disability period ends, which could provide income while you're transitioning back to work. Also, contact your local Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) office for guidance on your employment situation. They offer free consultations and can help you understand your rights before making any decisions about unemployment or legal action. You're not falling through cracks - there are protections in place, you just need to know how to access them. Hang in there!

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had my old address on file and all the notices were going there. Double-check your contact info with them!

This is so frustrating! I went through something similar a few months ago. Here's what worked for me: First, request a "Notice of Action" from EDD - they have to tell you in writing why your claim was stopped. You can do this online through SDI Online or by calling. Second, if you haven't already, file a written appeal ASAP. You usually have 30 days from when they stopped your benefits, but sometimes they'll accept late appeals if you have good cause. Also, keep track of every phone call, document, and interaction. Write down dates, times, and who you spoke with. This becomes super important if you need to escalate. Don't give up! The system is broken but your benefits are there - you just need to fight for them. Hang in there! 💪

¡No te rindas!

just a heads up, theres been a glitch in the system lately that's causing some certifications to get stuck in pending status. EDD knows about it and is supposedly working on fixing it. might be whats happening to you

Oh wow, I hadn't heard about this. Do you know how long it's been going on?

I think it started about 2 weeks ago? Not sure when it'll be fixed tho. EDD and their timelines, ya know? 🙄

Hey Alejandro! I'm going through the exact same thing right now - submitted my certification 5 days ago and it's still showing as pending. From what I've seen in this community, it seems like there are definitely some system issues happening lately. I'd suggest checking your UI Online account every morning (that's what I've been doing) and maybe try calling early in the morning like Jackie suggested. The waiting is super stressful when you're counting on that money, but hopefully it'll process soon. Keep us updated on how it goes!

Thanks Felix! It's honestly reassuring to know I'm not the only one dealing with this right now. 5 days is already feeling like forever, so I can't imagine how frustrated you must be feeling too. I'll definitely start checking my account first thing in the morning and might try calling early tomorrow. Really appreciate you sharing your experience - sometimes just knowing others are going through the same thing helps with the stress. I'll keep everyone posted if anything changes on my end. Hope yours gets processed soon too! 🤞
