If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just wanted to add another tip that helped me during my extension process - if your doctor's office is slow with paperwork (which seems pretty common), you can actually ask them to fax the DE 2525XX form directly to EDD while you're still at your appointment. Most medical offices have fax capabilities and this ensures it gets submitted immediately rather than sitting in their outgoing mail pile for days. When I extended my disability for rotator cuff surgery complications, my doctor's assistant faxed it right from the exam room and I had confirmation it was received within hours. This might be worth asking about at your appointment to avoid any last-minute stress about timing!

That's such a smart tip about faxing directly from the appointment! I never would have thought to ask about that. It makes total sense to handle it right there instead of trusting it to get mailed out later. I'm definitely going to suggest this to my doctor tomorrow - especially since my current claim ends so soon. Thanks for sharing that experience! It's amazing how these little details can make such a big difference in avoiding gaps in benefits.

I'm currently dealing with a similar extension situation for my herniated disc recovery! One thing that really helped me was asking my doctor's office for a copy of the DE 2525XX form they submitted so I have it for my records. They were able to print me a copy right after they faxed it to EDD. This way I have proof of exactly what dates were requested and when it was submitted in case there are any issues later. Also, I learned that some doctor's offices will call EDD directly to confirm the form was received - mine did this and it gave me huge peace of mind. It's worth asking if your doctor's office offers this service since phone wait times can be brutal when you're trying to call yourself. The whole extension process is definitely nerve-wracking when you're already dealing with health issues, but it sounds like you're being proactive about it which is the key!

That's excellent advice about getting a copy of the submitted form! I hadn't thought about asking for documentation, but you're absolutely right - having that proof could be really important if there are any processing issues. I'm definitely going to request a copy when my doctor submits my extension. It's also great to know that some offices will call EDD to confirm receipt. I'll ask about that too since the phone wait times are so notorious. Thanks for sharing these practical tips - it really helps to hear from someone who's currently going through the same process!

Just wanted to chime in as another newcomer who's been lurking here for a few days! This thread is exactly why I joined this community - the level of detail and real-world experience shared here is incredible. I'm currently waiting on my first SDI payment (filed my claim 3 weeks ago for a shoulder injury) and honestly had no idea about these random reviews or the communication issues with EDD. Reading through everyone's experiences has been both educational and somewhat terrifying! 😅 @Aisha Khan - huge congrats on getting your husband's payment sorted out! The 8am calling strategy seems to be the golden rule here. @CosmicVoyager @Amara Okafor @Vince Eh - wishing you all luck with your Monday calls! It's honestly mind-blowing that a state agency in 2025 operates with such poor transparency. The fact that they can put holds on accounts without any notification is just unacceptable. At least we have this community to help decode their broken system! I'll definitely be bookmarking this thread for future reference. Thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge and experiences!

Welcome @Malik Johnson! As another newcomer, I'm finding this community invaluable too. It's amazing how much collective knowledge exists here that you just can't find anywhere on EDD's official site. Your 3-week wait for first payment sounds nerve-wracking, especially after reading about all these potential delays and reviews. At least you're going in with realistic expectations now thanks to everyone sharing their experiences here! The transparency issue is what really gets me - like @Vince Eh said, it would take them 30 seconds to add a simple notification system to their portal. Instead we re'all left guessing and stressing unnecessarily. It s'2025 and we re'dealing with a system that feels like it s'from the 1990s. Hope your first payment comes through smoothly without any of these random review delays! And thanks for the Monday well-wishes - fingers crossed the 8am strategy works for all of us trying to get through to them 🤞

As someone brand new to both this community and the EDD SDI system, this entire thread has been incredibly enlightening and honestly pretty alarming! I just submitted my first disability claim last week for a knee injury and had no idea about these potential payment delays and random reviews with zero notification. Reading through everyone's experiences here - from @Aisha Khan's 2-week delay due to a random eligibility review to @Carmen Lopez's similar experience in January - it's clear that this is a systemic communication problem with EDD. The fact that they can hold payments without any automated notification to claimants is just mind-boggling in 2025. @Aisha Khan - so relieved you got your husband's payment resolved! The 8am calling strategy seems to be the consensus here. To all the other newcomers (@CosmicVoyager @Amara Okafor @Vince Eh @Malik Johnson) also dealing with delays - good luck with your calls! This community is already proving more valuable than any official EDD resource I've found. Thank you all for sharing your real-world experiences and creating a space where we can actually get useful information about navigating this broken system!

Welcome @Fatima Al-Qasimi! As another complete newcomer to this community (literally just joined today), I'm blown away by how much invaluable information is shared here. This thread has been like a masterclass in navigating EDD's dysfunction! Reading about everyone's experiences with these random payment holds and zero communication from EDD is both helpful and terrifying. I'm currently in week 2 of waiting for my first SDI payment after a work injury, and honestly I was starting to panic thinking I'd done something wrong. Now I realize this might just be "normal" EDD chaos. The fact that @Aisha Khan had to go through 2 weeks of stress and multiple phone attempts just to find out about a random review that EDD never bothered to communicate is infuriating. How is this acceptable from a state agency in 2025?? @CosmicVoyager @Amara Okafor @Vince Eh @Malik Johnson - hoping all your Monday calls go smoothly! This community is already proving to be a lifeline for understanding what EDD won t tell us themselves.'Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and making this intimidating process a little less scary for us newcomers!

Thanks for sharing your timeline - 12 days is actually pretty encouraging! I'm on day 4 of waiting for my SDI approval after knee surgery and this thread has been super helpful. It sounds like as long as everything was submitted correctly the first time, most people are getting approved within that 2-3 week window. The horror stories about months-long waits seem to be when there are errors or missing documentation. Really hoping mine goes as smoothly as yours did!

You're so right about the documentation being key! I was super paranoid about making sure everything was perfect after reading some of the delay stories here. My doctor's office was really good about double-checking the medical certification before submitting it, which I think made a huge difference. Day 4 is still early - you've got this! Knee surgery recovery is no joke, so I hope your claim gets approved quickly and your healing goes well. This community has been such a lifesaver for managing the stress of waiting!

As someone who just went through the SDI approval process myself (got approved last month), I'd recommend calling the EDD customer service line around 8:02 AM - right when they open. I know everyone says they never answer, but I actually got through on my third try that way. The rep was able to tell me exactly what stage my claim was in and confirmed there were no issues holding it up. Also, if you haven't already, make sure to check that your employer submitted their portion correctly. Mine was delayed by 4 days because my HR department initially sent incomplete wage information to EDD. Once that got sorted out, approval came within 48 hours. The whole process took 16 days total but would've been 12 if not for the employer delay. Hope your recovery goes smoothly and your approval comes through soon! Herniated disc surgery is rough - been there myself.

I'm dealing with the exact same ID.me driver's license issue right now! It's incredibly frustrating when the system says your license is linked to another account that you know doesn't exist. I've been banging my head against this wall for weeks. From what I've read here, it seems like persistence with calling is key, even though it's painful. I'm also going to try that suggestion about asking them to check for duplicate records or database errors - that actually makes a lot of sense from a technical standpoint. Has anyone had luck with trying different browsers or devices when doing the ID.me verification? Sometimes these systems can be finicky about that stuff too. Thanks for posting this - at least we know we're not alone in this nightmare! 😤

Same boat here! I've been stuck on this for almost a month now. The different browser suggestion is actually really smart - I hadn't thought of that. I tried switching from Chrome to Firefox and it didn't fix the main issue, but the error messages were slightly different which gave me some clues. Also, if you haven't already, try using an incognito/private browsing window. Sometimes cached data can mess things up even more. The database duplicate thing makes total sense too - I bet their system has tons of data integrity issues. Keep us posted on what works for you!

I'm in a similar boat right now! I mailed my DE 2501 forms about 10 days ago and have been wondering the same thing about switching to online. Reading through all these responses is super helpful - it sounds like the key is just being patient and waiting for EDD to process the paper claim first. I was also worried about accidentally creating a duplicate claim by trying to go online too early. It's good to know that once they send that first notice with the claim number, the transition to SDI Online should be pretty straightforward. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - this is exactly the kind of real-world advice that's hard to find on the official EDD website!

I'm glad this thread is helping you too! It's so frustrating that the EDD website doesn't clearly explain this process - like, they should have a simple FAQ about switching from paper to online mid-claim. I've been checking my mailbox obsessively every day waiting for that notice, but at least now I know what to look for and that it's normal for it to take a few weeks. Good luck with your claim!

I'm going through this exact same situation right now! I mailed my DE 2501 forms about a week and a half ago and have been anxiously waiting to hear something back from EDD. This thread has been incredibly helpful - I had no idea that I needed to wait for them to process the paper claim first before setting up the online account. I was actually planning to try creating an SDI Online account this weekend, but now I know I should wait for that Notice of Computation to arrive in the mail first. It's reassuring to hear from so many people who successfully made the switch from paper to online. The waiting is nerve-wracking when you're dealing with disability and need those payments, but at least now I know what to expect with the timeline. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this is way more helpful than anything I could find on the official EDD website!

I'm so glad this thread exists too! I was in the exact same position just a couple weeks ago - mailed my forms and then immediately started second-guessing whether I should have done everything online from the start. The waiting period is definitely stressful, especially when you're already dealing with health issues and need the income support. What really helped me was keeping copies of everything I mailed (like others mentioned) and writing down the date I sent it so I could track the timeline. I'm still waiting for my notice too, but knowing that 2-3 weeks is normal makes me feel much better about the process. We're all in this together!
