CalWORKs Cash Aid not showing on BenefitsCal website - only seeing CalFresh transactions

Is anyone else having problems seeing their Cash Aid on the BenefitsCal website? I logged in this morning to check my balance and all I can see are like 20 CalFresh transactions but NO info about my Cash Aid at all! My payment should have posted yesterday (15th) and I need to pay my landlord ASAP. Called the EBT customer service number but was on hold forever. Anyone know if the system is down or glitching? Or do I need to contact my worker? Really stressing about this because I can't be late on rent again.

Yes!! The website has been acting weird for me too. I can see my CalFresh but not my Cash Aid. I think they're having technical issues cuz my friend said she called them and they told her the system was temporarily down for maintenance or something. Try checking again tomorrow?

Ugh that's what I was afraid of. Did your friend hear when it might be fixed? I'm literally freaking out because my landlord doesn't care about website problems!

This happens every few months with the BenefitsCal portal. The Cash Aid transactions sometimes disappear from view even though the money is still on your card. Have you tried calling the EBT customer service line (not the county office) and checking your balance through the automated system? That will tell you if your Cash Aid was actually loaded or not. The website is just a way to view transactions, but the automated phone system connects directly to your card balance.

I tried the automated system but gave up after waiting 20 minutes to talk to someone. Didn't think about just checking the balance through the automated part. Will try that now, thanks!

It's definitely a technical issue with the BenefitsCal portal, not an actual problem with your benefits. The system that displays transaction history is separate from the one that actually deposits funds on your card. Your Cash Aid is most likely already on your card even though you can't see the transaction online. Here's what you can do: 1. Call the EBT customer service number and use the automated system to check your balance (don't wait to talk to a representative) 2. Try using an ATM to check your balance if possible 3. The mobile app sometimes works when the website doesn't If you verify your money isn't actually on your card after trying these options, then you'll need to contact your county office about your Cash Aid payment.

Thank you! I just checked using the automated system and my Cash Aid IS there! Such a relief. Weird that it's not showing up on the website though.

I've been on CalWORKs for 3 years and this happens ALL THE TIME!! The website will show CalFresh transactions but hide the Cash Aid ones for like 2-3 days and then they magically reappear. Super annoying but your money is probably still there. Check your actual balance not the transaction history.

If you need to reach your CalWORKs worker to verify your Cash Aid was actually issued (after checking your balance through other methods), I'd recommend trying Claimyr. I was having similar issues last month where my balance wasn't showing right and I couldn't get through to anyone. With Claimyr (claimyr.com), they got me connected to a real person at my county office in about 15 minutes instead of waiting on hold for hours. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/jzISHxCPLwE - it's been a lifesaver for me when dealing with these frustrating system issues.

Does this actually work? I've spent HOURS on hold with my county and either get disconnected or have to hang up to get my kids from school. Has anyone else tried this service?

Yes, it really does work. I was skeptical too but got through to someone in about 10-15 minutes. They just call and wait on hold for you, then connect you when a real person answers. Saved me so much time and frustration.

This could also potentially be because you're mixing up BenefitsCal (which is the application portal) with the EBT website/Connect EBT (which shows your transaction history). They're two different systems. Try checking your balance at www.ebt.ca.gov or on the Connect EBT app instead of BenefitsCal.

OMG you're right!! I was looking in BenefitsCal instead of the EBT website. Just checked the right site and everything is there. I feel so stupid now lol. Thank you!!!

Don't feel stupid! The system is unnecessarily complicated with too many different websites and logins. Glad you found your benefits!

anybody else notice they changed the deposit date? my cash aid used to come on the 1st now its the 2nd. maybe they changed your date too?

Cash Aid payment dates are based on the last digit of your case number and haven't changed system-wide. However, when the 1st (or your regular payment date) falls on a weekend or holiday, payments are typically issued on the next business day. This might explain why you're seeing it on the 2nd occasionally.

I had this EXACT same issue last month!!! So frustrating. I think they're doing some kind of system update. My worker told me they're transitioning to a new platform and there's going to be glitches for a while. Just call the EBT customer service and check your balance there, don't rely on the website right now. And DEFINITELY document everything - take screenshots of any errors you see. My Cash Aid was there even though I couldn't see any transactions online for almost a week.

UPDATE: Thanks everyone for your help! Turns out I was looking in the wrong place (BenefitsCal instead of the EBT website). Once I checked the actual EBT website everything was there. And my Cash Aid was on my card all along - I was able to withdraw it and pay my rent. So relieved! The system is so confusing with all these different websites and logins.

So glad it worked out! Yeah the whole system is super confusing with too many different websites.

Glad you got it figured out! This is exactly why I always bookmark both sites - www.ebt.ca.gov for checking balances/transactions and BenefitsCal for applications/case management. So many people get confused between the two. For future reference, you can also download the ConnectEBT app on your phone which makes it super easy to check your balance on the go. It's saved me from panicking so many times when I thought my benefits weren't there!
