If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I just want to update you - I checked the Welfare & Institutions Code, and for discontinued cases where the client provides verification within 30 days of discontinuance, they are required to process it and restore benefits without requiring a new application. The CW 2219 form helps, but technically they should be able to reactivate your case just with the birth certificate since it's what they requested. If you continue having trouble, mention "W&I Code Section 11265.4" to your worker when you speak with them.

Thank you!! That code reference might really help. I'm going to try that Claimyr service tomorrow to get through and mention all this. Will update what happens.

Wait your benefits actually came through? I'm still waiting on mine and it's almost 9AM! I called the EBT customer service number and they said everything looks normal on my account but nothing has deposited yet. This is making me so anxious I can't even focus on getting my kids ready for school. 😫

If customer service confirmed your account is active, try not to worry. LA County processes hundreds of thousands of payments - sometimes it takes until later in the morning. If it's not there by noon, then call your worker directly. Make sure you also check your semi-annual reporting status - if you have an overdue SAR7, that could delay your payment.

Just as an update for anyone who might search for this in the future - my worker told me that LA County processes CalWORKs payments in batches by case number groupings. That's why some people get theirs at midnight and others not until morning. She said there's no way to know exactly when your specific payment will post each month, but if your case is in good standing, it should arrive by noon on the payment date at the latest.

That's really helpful information! I've been on CalWORKs for years and never knew they batched by case number. Makes sense why my neighbor and I always get ours at different times despite applying in the same month.

I work with CalWORKs recipients, and this is a situation I see frequently. Here's what you need to do: 1. Contact your worker immediately and request form CW 2186A (Request for CalWORKs Exemption) 2. Schedule an appointment with your son's doctor to complete the form, explaining that he needs to document full-time care requirements 3. Submit this documentation BEFORE your WTW orientation if possible 4. If timing doesn't work out, attend the orientation but inform them you've applied for a caregiver exemption 5. Request your case be put on hold until the exemption determination is made Also, keep in mind that caring for a disabled family member can be challenging, so ask about supportive services like IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services) if you haven't already applied. This program might provide payment for some of the care you provide to your adult son.

Thank you so much for the detailed steps! I didn't know about IHSS either - does that work alongside CalWORKs? Would getting paid through IHSS affect my Cash Aid amount?

0 coins

To answer your follow-up question - yes, IHSS can work alongside CalWORKs, but there are some important things to know. IHSS payments received for caring for your disabled adult son would count as income and could reduce your Cash Aid amount. However, the total between both programs is typically more than CalWORKs alone. Additionally, IHSS income may qualify you for an earned income exemption that lets you keep more of your benefits. It's worth looking into because it provides more stable long-term support, especially since CalWORKs has the 48-month lifetime limit.

I went through this exact situation last year! Getting on IHSS was a game-changer for me. Even though my CalWORKs decreased some, the IHSS payment made up for it and then some. Plus when I started getting IHSS, my county worker actually helped me apply for a caregiver exemption from WTW activities. Definitely pursue both programs together.

Another thing to check - make sure your Semi-Annual Report (SAR 7) and annual recertification are up to date. Sometimes benefits stop because of missing paperwork, and people think it's related to program changes when it's actually just a reporting issue. If you haven't submitted a SAR 7 recently, that could be why your benefits changed. Just something else to consider.

0 coins

I actually submitted my SAR 7 last month and got confirmation it was received. My regular CalWORKs payment came through fine, it was just the extra pandemic amount that disappeared. But good point, I'll double check all my paperwork is in order.

0 coins

I've been speaking with several families about this issue. What many don't realize is the pandemic money was part of the American Rescue Plan Act funding that had a specific end date. The state did make a permanent adjustment to the Maximum Aid Payment (MAP) rates to partially offset this, but it's much less than the pandemic supplement was. If you're experiencing hardship because of this change, ask your worker specifically about: 1. The CalWORKs Housing Support Program 2. Special Needs supplements 3. The Homeless Assistance Program if you're at risk of losing housing 4. WTW supportive services if you're participating in Welfare to Work Also check if you're receiving the full CalFresh amount you're eligible for, as many CalWORKs families don't receive their maximum food benefits.

This is really helpful info. When I asked about the housing support program my worker gave me a bunch of paperwork to fill out but warned me there's a waitlist in most counties. Still worth applying though!

Good idea! I just checked and there's nothing new there except the standard deposit notification. No explanation for the increase at all.

One more thing to check - does anyone else in your household receive CalWORKs Cash Aid? Sometimes when there's a change in household composition due to someone going on SSI, they recalculate both programs and may have accidentally added Cash Aid to your account instead of just CalFresh. The amount ($1,831) sounds more like it could be a combined CalWORKs + CalFresh issuance rather than just food benefits.

We don't get Cash Aid, only CalFresh. I managed to finally get through to someone using that Claimyr service another commenter mentioned. The worker confirmed it was an error - they somehow entered my son's SSI as a deduction instead of income! They're fixing it now and said not to spend the extra money because they'll be adjusting the balance on my EBT card within 2-3 business days. Thank you all for your help and warnings about not spending it!
