If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

did u try calling ur worker? i kno its impossible to get thru sometimes but if u keep calling right when they open sometimes u can catch them. or go in person if u can. they always treat u better face to face than on the phone i swear

I've tried calling multiple times but our county office is ALWAYS busy. I'm going to try going in person next week. The office is pretty far from us but at this point it's worth the bus fare if I can get this fixed.

anyone know if they can garnish wages for calworks overpayments??? im so worried they're gonna start taking $ from my paychecks for an overpayment from 2 yrs ago that i never paid

0 coins

Yes, they can eventually refer unpaid CalWORKs overpayments to the Franchise Tax Board for collection, which can lead to wage garnishment or tax refund intercepts. But they have to send multiple notices first, and there's a process. If you're worried about an old overpayment, call and try to set up even a small payment plan ($5-10/month) to show good faith - that usually prevents them from taking more aggressive collection action.

lol they change the rules all the time. I got denied last month cuz I went over the income limit by $32!!! but then got approved this month with the SAME income. make sure you ask for the exact income limits for ur family size. also bring ALL ur school paperwork and financial aid info. they count some school money as income depending what kind it is

0 coins

That's stressful! Our income is basically $0 right now except for some help from family, so I think we're under the limit. But good point about financial aid - my husband gets a Pell Grant. I'll make sure to bring those documents too.

Just to add some specifics about the education requirements: For your programs to count as WTW activities, you need to show they lead directly to employment and are likely to help you become self-sufficient. You'll need to complete a WTW 2 form for each of you, along with your current class schedules, enrollment verification, and a statement from each program showing the expected completion date and job prospects. For the parent who isn't using the young child exemption, the standard participation requirement is 35 hours per week for two-parent families. If your educational program doesn't meet all those hours, you may need to supplement with other approved activities like work experience, job search, or additional trainings. Also important: Make sure to apply for the CalWORKs program at your colleges! Many community colleges have special CalWORKs offices that provide additional support services for students receiving Cash Aid.

This is really helpful info! My husband's welding program is 30 hours a week, so it sounds like he might need to add something else to reach 35 hours. Do study hours count? And I had no idea colleges have CalWORKs offices - I'll definitely look into that at our schools.

my sister works for the county (not calworks tho) and she said they did upgrade their whole computer system last weekend and its causing ALL KINDS of problems across different benefit programs. she said they're working overtime trying to fix everything!!

That would explain it! Thanks for the insider info! Really wish they'd sent out a notice about this instead of leaving everyone panicking.

For anyone still confused about this payment: 1. It's officially called the Child Poverty Reduction Supplement (CPRS) 2. One-time payment for CalWORKs households with children 3. Payment amounts: $47 (1-2 children), $52 (3-4 children), or $61 (5+ children) 4. Distribution dates vary by county and sometimes by case number 5. It will appear on your EBT card with your regular Cash Aid 6. You should receive a notification, but many aren't going out 7. You can check BenefitsCal for the payment (listed as "CPRS Payment") 8. This is separate from your regular monthly benefit Hope this helps clear things up!

This is SO helpful - thank you! I wish the county would explain things this clearly instead of leaving us all confused and having to figure it out on our own!

i just checked my account and i got the money!!!! showed up this morning!! check ur accounts everyone

Just checked and mine is there too! $47 exactly like they said. Such a nice surprise even if it's not a huge amount. Every bit helps with these kids growing out of clothes every month! 😅

THEY ALWAYS DO THIS!!!! The system is designed to make things as difficult as possible. They approve you but then make it impossible to get your benefits. I had a similar issue last year and ended up having to make FOUR trips to the county office before I finally got my card. Each time they told me something different. Make sure you bring EVERY document you can think of - ID, social security cards, birth certificates, approval letters, everything. Otherwise they'll just send you home to get whatever document they suddenly decide they need.

0 coins

I understand your frustration, but in most counties, you only need your photo ID to pick up an EBT card at the office if you're already approved. They should be able to look up your case in their system. Bringing your approval notice can help, but they shouldn't need birth certificates or social security cards just to issue a card for an already-approved case.

Maybe in YOUR county! In Riverside they made me bring everything plus proof of address. Then they said my lease wasn't good enough and I needed a utility bill too. Everyone's experience is different and better to be over-prepared than waste a trip!

UPDATE: We went to the county office this morning and got our EBT card! You all were right - there was an issue with our address in the system. They had our old apartment number even though we submitted the correct address on our application. The case worker was able to issue us a card on the spot and the benefits were already loaded on it. They also confirmed we'll be getting retroactive payments from our application date, which is a huge relief. Thanks everyone for your help!

Thanks for the reminder about the SAR7! The worker mentioned that but there's been so much information to take in. Is there a way to submit that online through BenefitsCal or do we have to mail it in?

0 coins

Yes, you can submit the SAR7 through BenefitsCal now! It's much easier than mailing it. You can upload any required verification documents right there too. I always take screenshots of my confirmation page as proof that I submitted it, just in case.
