Yolo County P-EBT 2025 payments not showing up yet - anyone received theirs?

I'm in Woodland and was expecting the P-EBT for my two school-age kids to hit our card this week. The school sent home notices saying Yolo County distributions were supposed to start on the 15th, but I haven't seen anything posted to our account yet. It's now the 18th and we're counting on those funds for groceries this weekend. Has anyone else in Yolo County received their P-EBT payments for this cycle? I tried calling the county office but got stuck in an automated system for 45 minutes before getting disconnected. Getting worried since last year's payment came right on time.

Thanks for responding. That's so frustrating that it's inconsistent! Did your neighbor get it exactly on the 15th or was it delayed for her too?

The P-EBT distributions for Yolo County are being released in batches this year based on the first letter of the child's last name. According to the schedule posted on the Yolo County Human Services website: A-H: March 15-16 I-P: March 17-18 Q-Z: March 19-20 So depending on your children's last name, you might not get the deposit until tomorrow. If it's past your scheduled date and you still haven't received it, then it would be worth contacting them directly. Also, remember that P-EBT is separate from your regular CalFresh benefits, so it will show as a different transaction in your EBT account history.

Oh! I had no idea they were doing alphabetical distribution this year. Our last name starts with S, so I guess we're in the last batch. That explains it - thank you so much for sharing this info. I wish the school had included that detail in their notice.

I'M SO DONE WITH THIS SYSTEM!!! This is the third time they've changed how they distribute P-EBT without clearly telling anyone. Last year it was by school district, the year before by grade level, now by last name?? How are families supposed to budget when they keep changing everything and don't communicate clearly? My kids qualify for P-EBT and CalFresh both but I swear they make it as confusing as possible on purpose!!

I feel your frustration! The communication is definitely lacking. My kids' school just sent a generic flyer home without any of these important details. Are you also in the last group with a late-alphabet last name?

Yeah we're 'W' so always last for everything alphabetical. But my sister-in-law is 'B' and she hasn't gotten hers either, so I don't even know if they're following their own schedule!!!

my kids got there pebt yesterday and we're in winters. but im confused because i thought pebt was only for remote learning during covid? are they still doing it? maybe its pandemic ebt vs permanent ebt and thats why im confused

You're thinking of the original P-EBT program during COVID. The current program is still called P-EBT but now stands for Permanent-EBT rather than Pandemic-EBT. It was made permanent in the 2022 budget for children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. Many people still call both versions "P-EBT" which definitely causes confusion!

If anyone is having trouble reaching someone at Yolo County about their P-EBT or regular CalFresh benefits, I recently discovered a service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual human at the county office in less than 10 minutes. After weeks of getting disconnected or waiting on hold forever, it was a game-changer. They call and wait on hold for you, then call you when they get a real person. I watched their demo video (https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8) and it worked exactly like they showed. The website is claimyr.com if anyone needs help getting through. Saved me a ton of stress when I was dealing with a missed verification deadline last month.

Thank you for sharing this! If our payment doesn't show up by tomorrow, I'll definitely try this service. Those automated systems are so frustrating.

Just to clarify some confusion I'm seeing in this thread - the P-EBT 2025 program has three distribution phases in California. Each county has their own schedule, and Yolo County is indeed using alphabetical distribution by last name. However, there have been some processing delays affecting the A-H group specifically, which is why some people with last names in that range haven't received their benefits yet despite being in the first scheduled batch. Important note: P-EBT benefits are loaded onto a separate card from your regular CalFresh EBT card unless you specifically requested consolidation during the last open enrollment period. So some people might be checking the wrong card. If you lost your P-EBT card, you'll need to request a replacement by calling the P-EBT Helpline at 877-328-9677, not your regular EBT customer service number. Also, for the 2025 cycle, benefit amounts increased by about 30% compared to last year, so you'll receive more per eligible child than previous cycles.

Wait so we're supposed to get a completely different card for the P-EBT? I never got one! I've been waiting for it to show up on my regular EBT card this whole time. How would I know if I'm supposed to have a separate card?

UPDATE: Our P-EBT benefits just posted! Checked the separate P-EBT card this morning and the funds are there. Thank you everyone for your help and information. For those still waiting - definitely check the actual P-EBT card if you have one, not your regular CalFresh EBT card (I was checking the wrong one at first too).
