Anyone in Stanislaus County received K-12 P-EBT 2025 payments yet?

Hey neighbors, just checking if anyone in Stanislaus County has gotten their P-EBT benefits for kids yet? My daughter's school said all eligible families should receive the new 2025 K-12 P-EBT cards by early March, but we're mid-month and I haven't seen anything in the mail. Getting a bit anxious since we're really counting on it this month. The school lunch coordinator wasn't very helpful when I called. Anyone else still waiting or did you receive yours already? Trying to figure out if it's just me or if there's a county-wide delay.

Thanks for the reply! That's good to know they're at least starting to arrive in the county. Was your sister's amount the same as previous years or did they change it?

I work with a nonprofit that assists families with benefits in Stanislaus County. The P-EBT cards for K-12 students are being mailed out in batches based on school districts. Some families in Modesto Unified received theirs last week, but most other districts in the county are scheduled for the next 2-3 weeks. The 2025 benefit amount is $850 per eligible child for the full school year, distributed in 2-3 payments. If you haven't received anything by April 1st, you should contact the state P-EBT helpline at 877-328-9677, but be aware they're experiencing extremely high call volumes right now. You can also check your status at ca.p-ebt.org if you have your child's student ID and birthdate.

This is super helpful info, thanks! Quick question - my kids are on CalFresh already, does that automatically make them eligible for P-EBT or is it a separate thing? I get so confused between all these different benefit cards!

P-EBT is separate from regular CalFresh benefits, but they often get confused. The P-EBT 2025 program is specifically for school-aged children who would receive free or reduced-price meals at school. Distribution in Stanislaus County started March 5th and will continue through early April according to the schedule. One important note: unlike regular CalFresh EBT cards, P-EBT cards are mailed directly to the address the school district has on file. If you've moved recently and haven't updated your address with the school, that could cause delays. Also, make sure you're activating the card as soon as you receive it - the benefits expire after one year if unused.

Thank you for clarifying! I did update our address with the school in January when we moved, but maybe that was too late for their initial distribution list. I'll give it another couple weeks before I start worrying too much.

I STILL HAVENT GOT MINE EITHER AND IVE BEEN CALLING THAT STUPID NUMBER FOR THREE DAYS!!! Always says "high call volume" then HANGS UP on me!!! This is ridiculous! My kids need to eat and they promised these cards weeks ago. The school says "not our problem" and the county says call the state and the state number doesn't work. I'm SO TIRED of this run around!!!!!

I was having the exact same problem trying to reach someone about my P-EBT card last month. Someone on another forum recommended using Claimyr.com to get through to them - it basically holds your place in line and calls you back when a real person is available. Worked for me after days of getting nowhere. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8. Saved me so much frustration.

Not a dumb question at all! This is different from Summer EBT. The P-EBT program is for eligible K-12 students during the school year, while Summer EBT (now permanent in California starting 2025) provides benefits during summer months when school is out. They use separate cards and have different eligibility requirements, though many families qualify for both.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know our P-EBT card finally arrived yesterday! Like someone mentioned, it came in a white envelope that really did look like junk mail. The benefit amount was $295 per child which I guess is the first installment. Thanks everyone for your help and info - hope everyone else gets theirs soon!

That's great news that people are finally starting to receive their cards! I'm a new member here and have been following this thread because I'm in a similar situation. My family just moved to Stanislaus County from Fresno last month and I'm wondering if the move might complicate things for us. My two kids were enrolled in their new school district in February, but I'm not sure if they made it into the P-EBT system in time. Has anyone dealt with a mid-year school district transfer and P-EBT? Should I contact the new school district directly or wait it out like everyone else? Thanks for all the helpful info in this thread!
