Anyone received P-EBT benefits for school kids in San Joaquin County for 2025 summer yet?

I've been checking my kids' P-EBT cards daily for the past two weeks and nothing has been loaded for the summer food benefits yet. My neighbor mentioned she got hers last week (she's in Stockton too) but I haven't seen anything for my 3 elementary kids. Anyone else in San Joaquin County received their summer P-EBT money yet? The kids' school is definitely eligible since they're on the free lunch program. Getting worried since groceries are crazy expensive now and this helps us get through the summer!

We're in Manteca Unified. So frustrating! Did you get the full $575 per kid? That's what the flyer from school said we should expect.

The P-EBT benefits for San Joaquin County are being distributed in phases throughout the summer of 2025. According to the CDSS schedule, Manteca Unified is actually scheduled for the third week of June, while Tracy and parts of Stockton were in the first wave. You should see benefits loaded between June 15-21 if your children qualify. Each eligible student should receive $575 for summer P-EBT benefits this year. Also, make sure you're checking the correct P-EBT cards. If your children received cards in previous years, the new benefits will be loaded onto those same cards. If you've lost the cards, you'll need to request replacements through the P-EBT website or helpline.

Thank you so much! I had no idea they were doing it by district. So relieved to hear we're still scheduled to get it. We definitely still have the old cards from last year.

wait is this different from regular calfresh ebt? my kids get school lunch but i never got any separate card for them

DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED on the P-EBT rollout this year!!! I called the "helpline" FIVE TIMES and got disconnected EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! My kids haven't received ANYTHING yet and we're in Lodi. Their school definitely qualifies and they've gotten it every summer before. The worst part is that you can't even talk to a REAL PERSON to find out what's happening with your case. The system is BROKEN!!! 😡

I totally understand your frustration with the P-EBT helpline. I had the same problem trying to reach them about my lost card. I finally had success using Claimyr.com - it helped me get through to an actual person at the P-EBT office instead of just getting disconnected or waiting forever. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8. I was able to confirm our benefits were scheduled and that they had our correct address for the replacement card I needed.

Thanks for the tip! I'm desperate at this point so I'll try ANYTHING that might actually get me through to someone who can help!!!

my kids got the p-ebt last week we're in stockton lincoln unified by the way the amount is actually $625 per kid this year not $575 because they increased it for inflation i think

That's not right. The official California P-EBT website still shows $575 per eligible child for Summer 2025. I just checked yesterday when helping my sister apply. Maybe you're thinking of the regular school year amount which is different? Or maybe you have additional benefits from another program showing on the same card?

P-EBT (Pandemic EBT) started during COVID but has been extended through at least 2025. It provides food benefits to students who would normally receive free or reduced-price meals at school when school is not in session (like summer break). It's completely separate from regular CalFresh benefits. If your children attend a school where at least 40% of students qualify for free meals, they should automatically receive P-EBT benefits. The benefits come on a special P-EBT card, not your regular CalFresh EBT card. If your children never received cards before, you might need to check if they're eligible and request cards through the P-EBT portal at ca.p-ebt.org.

I received benefits for my daughter yesterday. We're in Lathrop (part of Manteca Unified). The benefit loaded onto her old card from last year. Maybe check if you still have your kids' old P-EBT cards? Also, sometimes the system shows pending for a few days before the full amount appears.

That's interesting - we're also Manteca Unified but haven't received anything. I wonder if they're doing it alphabetically within districts? Our last name starts with W so maybe we're at the end of the list.

has anyone else noticed the p-ebt cards r super confusing? like why cant they just add it to regular ebt instead of having separate cards for the kids?? i always lose track of which card is which

I believe they're separate because P-EBT is technically a different program with different funding than regular CalFresh, even though they both use EBT technology. It's actually administered by a partnership between California Department of Education and CDSS, while regular CalFresh is just CDSS.

UPDATE: Our benefits just loaded today! Full $575 per child as expected. Thanks everyone for the help and information! For anyone else waiting in Manteca Unified, check your cards now!

Still NOTHING for us in Lodi!! This is so unfair how they roll this out!!

Glad to hear your benefits arrived! According to the schedule, Lodi Unified should be receiving benefits next week (June 22-28). If you don't see anything by June 30, I'd recommend contacting the P-EBT helpline or using your county social services office as an alternate contact point.

Just wanted to add my experience for anyone still waiting - I'm new to the P-EBT program and had to learn everything from scratch this year. My kids attend a school in San Joaquin County that participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (free meals for all students), but I never knew about P-EBT until a friend mentioned it. I applied late through the ca.p-ebt.org website in May and just received our cards in the mail yesterday. The benefits were already loaded with the full summer amount! So for anyone who might have missed out on automatic enrollment, it's not too late to apply directly through the website. The application was pretty straightforward and asked for basic info about my kids and their school.

This is so helpful! I had no idea you could still apply directly if you missed the automatic enrollment. My sister's kids go to a different district and she's been waiting forever with no luck. I'm definitely going to share this with her - sounds like applying through the website might be faster than waiting for the automatic rollout. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you for sharing this! I'm actually in a similar situation - my kids go to a school with free lunch for everyone but I somehow never got the P-EBT cards automatically. I didn't even know this program existed until I saw this thread. Quick question - when you applied through the website, did you need any specific documents or just basic info like school name and your kids' details? And how long did it take from application to receiving the cards? Really appreciate you posting about the direct application option!
