Anyone in Solano County received their Summer P-EBT benefits yet? (Last name M)

Has anyone in Solano County gotten their Summer P-EBT benefits yet (the sun bucks)? My kids qualify for free lunch and I thought we were supposed to get the summer food benefits loaded automatically this month. Our last name starts with M and I haven't seen anything show up on our card yet. My neighbor (last name T) already got hers last week! Getting worried since school's out and grocery costs are killing me right now. Is there a specific schedule for Solano County or should I call someone?

mines S and nothin yet. think they doing it by groups this year

Ugh so frustrating! Did you get any notice or letter about when to expect it?

I'm in Solano too (Dixon area) with last name M as well, and just got our Summer P-EBT yesterday! They're definitely staggering the releases. Check your BenefitsCal account or login to the EBT portal to see if there's any pending deposits. Sometimes the online system shows it a day before it actually hits your card. If nothing shows up by next Monday, I'd definitely call the county.

Thanks! I'll check the portal. I didn't even think to look there, I've just been checking the card balance. Hopefully ours comes soon too.

Just to clarify for everyone - these "sun bucks" are actually called Summer P-EBT, which is different from regular CalFresh benefits. For Summer 2025, they're issuing them from May 15 through June 30, alphabetically by last name. For most counties, they're releasing new batches every 3-4 days. M should be in the middle batch which is processing now. The benefits don't expire for a year once issued, so no need to spend them immediately. If you haven't received them by July 7th, that's when you should contact the P-EBT helpline at 877-328-9677. Also remember that P-EBT is managed by CDSS differently than regular CalFresh, so your regular county worker might not have the most up-to-date info on P-EBT distribution timelines.

I'm in Fairfield (Solano County) with last name M as well. Mine were just loaded yesterday morning! I've noticed that even within the same letter group, they seem to distribute over 2-3 days. Try calling the P-EBT hotline at 877-328-9677 but be prepared for VERY long wait times (I was on hold for 2 hours last year trying to resolve an issue). I recently discovered a service called Claimyr that helps you skip the phone wait time for benefits offices. I used it last month for a CalFresh question and it saved me hours. They have a demo video at https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 and their website is claimyr.com. Might be worth trying if you need to reach someone about this!

That's a relief to hear yours just came through! I'll give mine another day or two before panicking. Thanks for the tip about the phone service - those wait times are brutal. I'll check it out if I need to call.

NONE of the government offices ever tell us anything clearly!!! I waited 3 MONTHS last year for the summer p-ebt and when I called they kept giving me the runaround. Finally got it in AUGUST when summer was practically over. What's the point of "summer" benefits in August?!?! Now this year we're all playing the guessing game AGAIN. The system is completely BROKEN. I'm in Vacaville, last name M, and haven't gotten ANYTHING. My kids have been home for 2 weeks already and no extra food money!!! How are we supposed to feed these kids all summer with no help?!

I understand your frustration, but Summer P-EBT benefits don't expire quickly - you'll have a full year to use them once they're loaded. Even if they come later in the summer, you'll still have the same amount of assistance. Based on the current distribution schedule, M surnames in Solano County should all be processed by the end of this week or early next week at the latest.

Quick update for everyone - I just called about this (last name M in Solano) and apparently they're doing Solano County M surnames in two batches - May 28th and June 2nd. So if you haven't received yours yet, you're probably in that June 2nd batch which should be hitting cards by tomorrow or Wednesday. Hope that helps!

THANK YOU!!! This is exactly the info I needed. It's so frustrating when they don't communicate these things clearly. I'll check again Wednesday and hopefully it'll be there by then.

How did you actually get through to a HUMAN?? I've called that number 5 TIMES and just get stuck in the automated system that tells me NOTHING useful!!!

I didn't call the main P-EBT line - I called my regular Solano County CalFresh office and asked them to check the system. Sometimes the county workers can see more detailed distribution schedules than what the state hotline tells you. Try the Solano County benefits line at 707-553-5311 and choose the CalFresh option.

Just wanted to update everyone - I'm also in Solano County with last name M and mine finally loaded this morning! So for anyone still waiting, keep checking. It looks like that June 2nd batch Owen mentioned is right on schedule. The amount was $120 per kid which matches what I was expecting. Really grateful to have this extra help with summer groceries - it makes such a difference when the kids are home all day!
