When will February 2025 CalFresh benefits load? Should be tomorrow?

Quick question - are we supposed to get our February CalFresh allotment loaded onto our EBT cards tomorrow? My family is down to our last few meals and I'm getting anxious. I usually get mine on the 10th each month but heard something about schedule changes for 2025. Can anyone confirm? I tried calling the county office but got stuck in that awful phone system for 45 minutes before giving up.

CalFresh benefits are still being issued on the same schedule as before - between the 1st and 10th of each month based on the last digit of your case number. If yours usually comes on the 10th, it should still arrive tomorrow. The only schedule change for 2025 was for SAR7 submission deadlines, not benefit issuance dates.

Thank you!! That's a relief. I must have misunderstood what the worker said about changes. Do you know if there's any way to check online when it will load exactly? My BenefitsCal account isn't showing anything about February yet.

The issuance dates haven't changed but sometimes they come a day early or a day late depending on weekends and holidays. I panicked last month when mine didn't show up on the 8th like usual but it was there the next morning. The EBT system is weirdly inconsistent sometimes.

If your benefits don't show up tomorrow when they should, you might want to try Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual person at the county office. I was in a similar situation a few months ago and wasted hours trying to reach someone. Claimyr got me through to a live person in about 15 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8. Seriously saved my sanity when I needed to find out why my benefits were delayed.

does that really work?? i thought it was a scam

It's legit. They just help you skip the phone queue. I was skeptical too but when you've been trying to reach someone for days and your kids are hungry, you'll try anything.

THE WHOLE CALFRESH SYSTEM IS A JOKE!!! They expect us to survive until some arbitrary date when they decide to give us our benefits? And heaven forbid you ever need to actually TALK to someone about your case! I've been waiting THREE DAYS for my benefits that were supposed to come on the 7th and my worker won't answer emails or calls. My kids are eating ramen for the third night in a row. THIS IS NOT OK!!!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Have you checked if there were any verification documents they might have requested recently? Sometimes benefits get held up if they're waiting for something, but they don't always communicate it clearly. If you submitted your last SAR7 and there were any issues, that could also cause delays.

hey totally random but does anyone know if the income limit is going up again this year? my boss is giving me more hours and im worried ill lose my calfresh

Yes, income limits were adjusted for 2025. For a household of 1, the gross monthly income limit is now $2,430. For a household of 2, it's $3,288. It goes up by approximately $860 for each additional household member. Remember that if your income goes over your IRT (Income Reporting Threshold), you need to report it within 10 days - don't wait for your next SAR7. But getting more hours doesn't necessarily mean losing benefits - they'll just recalculate based on the new income.

UPDATE: My benefits came through this morning! Exactly on the 10th like usual. I was just confused about the schedule changes. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!

Still nothing on my card. Going to try that Claimyr thing someone mentioned. I can't believe we have to PAY to talk to workers OUR TAX DOLLARS already pay for. This system is so broken.

If your benefits are delayed, make sure to ask about emergency replacement benefits when you get through. If it's been more than 3 days past your regular issuance date and you have no violations or unreported changes, you might qualify. They can sometimes expedite a replacement within 24-48 hours if you explain that your household has no food. Be sure to mention if you have children or elderly/disabled household members as that can help prioritize your case.
