When is CalFresh February 2025 last issuance date? Need to budget until March
Does anyone know when the last day for February 2025 CalFresh benefits loading is? My EBT card usually gets loaded around the 11th, but I've heard some people get theirs later in the month. I'm trying to budget and stretch what I have left since I'm running low, and need to know if I should expect any more deposits this month or if I need to wait until March. My case worker never picks up when I call the county office!

CalFresh benefits are issued over the first 10 days of each month based on the last digit of ur case number. If ur digit is 1, u get it on the 1st, if its 2, u get it on the 2nd, etc. If ur getting yours on the 11th thats weird tho, maybe ur thinking of another benefit?

•Oh wait I think you're right! I might be confusing it with my CalWorks payment which comes mid-month. So you're saying if I already got my CalFresh deposit at the beginning of February, I won't get anything else until March?

CalFresh benefits are issued once per month in California, not multiple times. The issuance schedule is based on the last digit of your case number and happens within the first 10 days of each month. If you've already received your February allotment, you won't get another deposit until March (again, on the same day determined by your case number). If you're running low on food before the end of February, you might want to check if you're eligible for emergency allotment by contacting your county office. The system is designed for benefits to last the entire month, so if you're consistently running out early, you might want to review your budget or see if you qualify for an increased benefit amount at your next recertification.

•Thank you for explaining! I didn't realize it was only deposited once per month - that makes sense now. I'll need to make mine stretch better. I had some unexpected guests this month which is why I ran through it faster than usual.

•yepp thats exactly right, last digit = day of deposit. if u have case ending in 0, u get on the 10th, thats the last possible day

Just to add some clarity - the CalFresh issuance schedule for 2025 is the same as previous years. Benefits are issued from the 1st through the 10th of each month based on the last digit of your case number. There are no deposits after the 10th of any month unless there's some kind of adjustment or supplement. If you're struggling to make your benefits last the whole month, I'd recommend contacting your county office to see if you qualify for an increase. Sometimes life circumstances change (higher rent, medical expenses, etc.) that could qualify you for more benefits. Have you submitted a recent SAR7 with all your updated expenses?

•I submitted my SAR7 last month but didn't include all my expenses because I was rushing. My rent went up $200 this year and I've been paying more for medications too. Maybe I should call and see if I can update that information? Would that help get more benefits?

If you're having trouble reaching your CalFresh caseworker, you might want to try Claimyr. I was in the same boat last month - couldn't get through to my worker for days, and I needed to update my income before my recertification. Claimyr helped me skip the long hold times and actually talk to a real person at the county office. I just went to claimyr.com and they had me connected within minutes. They even have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 Worth it if you need to talk to someone about updating your SAR7 with those expense changes - that could definitely increase your benefit amount!

•I've never heard of this service before! I'll check it out because I've been trying to get through to my worker for weeks. Thanks for sharing!

Those COUNTY CALL CENTERS are absolutely USELESS!!! I've been on CalFresh for 7 years and they NEVER answer. Don't expect to get any help from them. The whole system is designed to make it IMPOSSIBLE to get the help you need. I once waited on hold for 4 HOURS and then got disconnected. The way they calculate benefits is also completely broken - I lost $75/month in benefits when I got a $100/month raise. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE????

•While I understand your frustration with the phone system, the benefit reduction actually follows a specific calculation formula. For every additional dollar you earn, your CalFresh benefits typically reduce by about 30 cents (the exact percentage varies based on your specific situation). This is called the 'benefit reduction rate' and is designed so that you're always financially better off by earning more money, even though your benefits decrease somewhat.

•That's a good idea, thank you. I always forget about food banks for some reason. Do you need to bring any proof of income or anything like that?

To answer your follow-up question about updating expenses: Yes, reporting your increased rent and medical expenses could potentially increase your benefit amount. Medical expenses over $35/month for elderly or disabled household members can be deducted, and housing costs are a major factor in benefit calculations. You can submit this information to your county office even between regular reporting periods if the changes would increase your benefits. Use the "Report of Change" form (some counties call it "Change Report Form" or "CW 377.5") to document these expenses and include copies of receipts or bills as verification. This can be done through BenefitsCal online or by mail/fax to your county office.

•Thank you! I'll look for that form on BenefitsCal tonight. I didn't realize I could report changes that would INCREASE my benefits between reporting periods - I thought we only had to report things that might DECREASE them. This is really helpful information!
