ESD eServices keeps locking me out every Sunday - will this affect my weekly claim?

Is anyone else constantly getting locked out of their ESD account? This is the third time in a month I've been locked out while trying to file my weekly claim. Now I can't log in AT ALL and it says I need to call the 800 number... which of course isn't open on Sundays! I need to file my claim for last week but I'm worried the system won't let me do it tomorrow if I can't get my account unlocked. Has anyone dealt with this before? Will I lose my benefits if I can't file until Tuesday? I'm really stressing about this because I can't afford to miss a payment right now.

OMG same thing happened to me twice already!! The eServices login is SO frustrating. I think u have until Tuesday midnight to file ur weekly claim tho, so ur probably ok if u can reach someone tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the info! Do you know what time they open tomorrow? I'm going to try calling right when they open.

ESD technically gives you until the end of Tuesday to file for the previous week without it being considered late. However, if this is a recurring issue, you might want to look into what's causing the lockouts. Are you using the correct username format? ESD accounts often lock after 3-4 failed attempts. Also, make sure you're clearing your browser cache and cookies before logging in, especially if you're using a shared computer or public network.

I think I might be getting the username format wrong... sometimes I use my email and sometimes my SAW ID and I get confused. Does it matter which browser I use? I've been trying on my phone because my laptop is broken.

Yes, that could definitely be causing the problem. For ESD, you need to use your SecureAccess Washington (SAW) login credentials, not your email directly. Mobile browsers can sometimes cause issues too - if possible, try using Chrome on your phone and request the desktop site version.

I work with unemployment claims regularly, and this is a common issue. Here's what you need to know: 1. You have until Tuesday at 11:59 PM to file your weekly claim without it being considered late. 2. Account lockouts usually happen for security reasons. The most common causes are: - Multiple failed login attempts - Using different devices to log in - Not logging out properly from previous sessions - Browser compatibility issues 3. When you call tomorrow, make sure to: - Have your claimant ID ready - Ask them to note your account about the recurring lockouts - Request they walk you through the correct login procedure In the meantime, you could prepare your job search activities and work history for the week so you're ready to file quickly once your account is unlocked.

Thank you so much for this detailed info! I'll definitely have everything ready before I call. Do you know if there's a specific option I should select when calling to get to someone who can help with account lockouts?

I had this exact same issue last month! I tried calling the regular number and waited for 3 hours before getting disconnected. What finally worked was using Claimyr to get through to an ESD agent. It helped me connect with an actual person who fixed my account in like 5 minutes. Check out their site at claimyr.com - there's also a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Seriously saved me so much stress.

I've never heard of Claimyr before. Does it really work? I'm desperate at this point so I'll try anything that helps me avoid sitting on hold all day.

Yeah, it definitely worked for me! Instead of waiting on hold for hours, I got through to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes. The person I talked to was able to see that my account had some security flag on it from too many login attempts, and they fixed it right away.

Just so you know, ESD has a policy that if you're having technical difficulties filing your weekly claim, they can backdate it once the issue is resolved. Make sure you document when you tried to log in (take screenshots if possible) and explain that you were locked out of your account. When you finally reach an agent, ask specifically about backdating your weekly claim due to technical issues on their end. I've had to do this twice and they were accommodating both times.

That's really good to know! I'll take screenshots of the error messages I'm getting. Thanks for the tip about backdating - that makes me feel less anxious about possibly missing the Tuesday deadline.

this happens to me ALL THE TIME and ive learned a trick! try using incognito mode on yr browser, sometimes its just weird cookie issues. also make sure ur using the right login page - theres like 3 different ESD pages and only one works right. heres what i do: 1) clear browser 2) use incognito 3) go directly to secure.esd.wa.gov not the main esd page 4) use the SAW login not eservices directly sometims the system is just down on sundays for maintenance tho

Thank you! I'm going to try the incognito mode thing right now. I didn't realize there were different login pages - that might be part of my problem. I've probably been going to the wrong one!

lemme know if it works! also write down yr username somewhere safe cuz i swear they make it confusing on purpose lol. my claim examiner told me they do system updates on weekends sometimes which is WHY ARE THEY DOING UPDATES WHEN PEOPLE NEED TO FILE CLAIMS?? makes no sense

UPDATE: I tried the incognito mode suggestion and it didn't work, but I called right at 8:00 AM and actually got through after only waiting 25 minutes! The agent said my account had a security flag because I was switching between my phone and public library computer. She removed the lock and walked me through the correct way to log in. Just filed my claim successfully! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.
