ESD claim shows 'Letter ID resolution type employer' under decision status - What does this mean?
I'm so confused about my ESD unemployment claim right now. Under the 'decision status' section, it shows 'Letter ID resolution type employer (if applicable)' but I have no idea what this means. Is this good or bad news? The only thing showing under 'upload a document' is a request for my school hours. Also, my adjudication date just changed to today's date. Does this mean they're finally deciding on my claim? I've been waiting for over a month now and I'm getting really anxious because my savings are almost gone. Has anyone seen this status before and can tell me what's happening?

when I had something similar it meant they were getting ready to send me a decision letter about my claim. they wanted to konw about my school hours to determine if I was 'able and available' for work while taking classes. the changed adjudication date usually means they're actively reviewing your case TODAY so expect a letter in your eServices inbox within a few days.

•Oh thank you! That makes me feel a bit better. Do you know if I should call them or just keep waiting? I'm nervous because I'm only taking 2 online classes that don't interfere with regular work hours.

This is actually a positive development. The 'Letter ID resolution type employer' status indicates that ESD has made a determination and is preparing to issue a formal decision letter. Since they're asking for your school hours, they're likely confirming you meet the 'able and available' requirement while attending school. When your adjudication date changes to the current date, it typically means they're finalizing their decision today. Make sure you upload your school schedule promptly, showing exactly when your classes are scheduled. Include a brief note explaining how your classes won't interfere with your availability for full-time work. This is crucial for them to make a favorable determination.

•Thank you for such a detailed explanation! I'll upload my schedule right away with a note explaining that they're online classes with flexible hours. Fingers crossed I get approved soon.

SAME THING happened to me in January!!! The adjudication date changing is actually good news. It means your claim is being worked on right now. Mine was approved the next day after my adjudication date updated. But they do sometimes deny people who are in school, so make sure you explain that your classes don't interfere with work availability!!

•That's really reassuring to hear your claim was approved so quickly after the date changed! I'm going to make sure I explain very clearly about my classes.

After dealing with ESD for months, I can tell you their system is frustrating but this actually sounds promising. That status usually means they've made a decision and are preparing the formal notification. The school hours request is standard - they need to confirm you're available for work while taking classes. If you need to actually speak with someone at ESD (which might be good if you want to explain your school situation verbally), I recently discovered a service called Claimyr that got me through to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes after weeks of failed calling. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. It was honestly a lifesaver when I was dealing with a similar issue around my availability while taking online courses.

•I used Claimyr too when I had adjudication issues. Definitely worth it to actually talk to someone instead of waiting and wondering.

ESD is so confusing omg. I went through this whole school thing last year and had to submit my transcripts and everything. Just make sure you tell them EXACTLY how many hours you're in class and that you can still work full time. They denied me at first because I didn't explain it right.

•Oh no, that's what I'm worried about! Did you appeal after they denied you? Or how did you fix it?

•Yeah I had to appeal and it took like another 3 weeks but they approved it after I explained better. Just be super clear from the start!

I just went through this last month. When the adjudication date changes to today, it means someone is working on your case right now. You should get a decision letter within 24-48 hours in your eServices account. BTW, its SUPER important you upload those school hours ASAP. They're trying to determine if your school schedule makes you unavailable for work. My coworker got denied because she didn't respond to this request fast enough.

•Thanks for the heads up! I just uploaded my schedule and added a note explaining that my classes are fully online and I can do them evenings/weekends. I hope that's enough.

One more thing to note: When they issue the decision letter, it will appear in your eServices inbox with that same "Letter ID" mentioned in your status. This is just their internal reference system. The important part will be whether it says "Approved" or "Denied" in the letter itself. If approved, you'll likely see payment processing within 48 hours. If denied for some reason, you'll have 30 days to file an appeal, so don't panic if that happens. The appeal process is actually quite straightforward, and many initial denials get reversed when you provide additional documentation.

•This is super helpful information! I'll keep checking my eServices inbox. If I do need to appeal, is there anything specific I should include to strengthen my case?

•For school-related appeals, include: 1) Your complete class schedule, 2) A statement from your instructor confirming flexibility if classes are online, 3) Your work availability hours showing you're available for full-time work, and 4) Any past employment that shows you successfully worked while taking these classes. The key is proving your education doesn't interfere with accepting suitable work.

i had something similar happen but mine was about a former employer contesting my claim not school stuff. did your employer say you shouldnt get benefits? sometimes the 'employer' part of that status means they're resolving something the employer brought up

•I didn't think my employer was contesting anything, but now I'm worried! They laid me off due to budget cuts so I thought it was pretty straightforward. Is there a way to check if they're contesting my claim?

•Don't worry too much - the "employer (if applicable)" part is standard language in their status updates, even when employers aren't contesting. If you were laid off due to budget cuts and have documentation of that, you're likely in good shape. The school hours request seems to be their primary focus right now.

I went through this exact same thing about 6 months ago! The "Letter ID resolution type employer" status basically means they've finished their investigation and are preparing your decision letter. When the adjudication date changes to today's date, that's actually really good news - it means someone is actively working on finalizing your case right now. Since you mentioned you were laid off due to budget cuts, that should work in your favor. The school hours request is just them making sure you're still "able and available" for work while taking classes. Two online classes shouldn't be a problem at all - just make sure when you upload your schedule that you clearly explain they're flexible and don't interfere with normal work hours. I got my decision letter within 2 days of my adjudication date changing, so hopefully you'll hear something very soon! Hang in there - sounds like you're at the finish line.

•Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's really reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same thing. I was starting to panic thinking something was wrong, but hearing that you got your decision letter within 2 days gives me hope. I did upload my school schedule with a detailed explanation about the online classes being flexible, so fingers crossed they see it the same way they did for you. This whole process has been so stressful but it sounds like I might finally be getting some resolution soon!
