ESD backpay delay after adjudication completed - 3 weeks and nothing?

I've been dealing with adjudication for what feels like forever on my UI claim (actually 7 weeks). My adjudicator finally called last Thursday and after our interview said everything was resolved in my favor, but I still haven't received any of my back payments. My eServices account just says 'paid' for those weeks but no money has hit my account yet. The adjudicator mentioned something about 48-72 hours for processing but it's been 6 business days now. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced a delay after their adjudication was completed? I'm getting really worried because I've got rent due next week and was counting on this money. Do I need to call ESD again or just keep waiting?

This is normal unfortunately. When my adjudication finished last month it took almost 2 weeks for the backpay to actually show up. ESD says 48-72 hours but thats rarely accurate especially if ur claim had multiple weeks pending. Just keep checking ur bank account every morning

2 WEEKS?? Ugh, I was afraid of this. Did you have to do anything extra or did it just randomly show up one day? I've been checking my account like 5 times a day 😓

It depends on several factors. If your adjudication was completed and decided in your favor, the system typically processes payments in 3-5 business days. However, if you have direct deposit set up, it can take an additional 1-3 business days for the funds to appear in your account. If you're using the ESD debit card, it's usually faster. A few things to check: 1. Verify your payment method is correct in eServices 2. Make sure all your weekly claims show "paid" not just "processed" 3. Check if there are any other pending issues on your claim If it's been more than 7 business days since adjudication was completed, I'd recommend contacting ESD directly.

Thanks for the detailed info. I do have direct deposit and all weeks show 'paid' now. There aren't any other pending issues showing on my account. It's been 6 business days so I guess I'll give it until tomorrow before I panic.

Took FOREVER for me!!! 🙄 Adjudicator said I was approved but da money was nowhere to be seen for like 10 days. Kept calling the automated line & it said paid but nothing in my account! I almost had a heart attack thinking it went to wrong account or smthing. then BAM one day it ALL showed up at once. soooo stressful

That's a relief to hear. Did you ever actually talk to someone or did it just randomly appear? I'm wondering if calling would help or just waste my time.

In my experience working with ESD claims, backpay after adjudication typically follows this timeline: - Simple claims (1-2 weeks): 3-5 business days - Complex claims (3+ weeks): 5-10 business days - Claims with multiple issues: Up to 14 business days The system processes payments in batches, and older weeks sometimes take longer to clear all verification checks. Since you mentioned having 7 weeks of backpay, that's considered a complex claim and will take longer than the 48-72 hours the adjudicator mentioned. If you need to reach ESD to check status, I recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an agent without the endless busy signals. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. I was able to get through in under 30 minutes when I needed to resolve an issue with my claim.

Yes, it's legitimate. They essentially automate the calling process and notify you when they connect with an ESD agent. Saved me hours of redial frustration.

ESD IS THE WORST!!! They approved my claim after adjudication then made me wait 3 WEEKS for my money!!!! When I finally got through to someone they said 'oh there was a system flag that needed manual review' but NO ONE bothered to tell me that!! They just left me hanging with no income and no explanation. The whole system is designed to make people give up. CALL THEM EVERY SINGLE DAY until you get your money. Don't trust anything they say about timeframes.

That's really concerning. Did you eventually get all your backpay or did they reduce it? I'm worried they might change their mind about my eligibility.

When I finally got my backpay after adjudication, it was actually separated into two deposits that came 3 days apart. First I got the most recent 3 weeks, then the older 4 weeks came later. Maybe check if some of it came through already? Strange how they do it sometimes.

That's interesting - I've checked and nothing's come through yet, but maybe they'll split mine up too. I'll keep an eye out for partial payments.

Will do! I ended up calling ESD this morning using that Claimyr service someone mentioned. Got through in about 20 minutes which was a huge improvement over my previous attempts. The agent confirmed my payment was approved but said there's an additional verification step for claims with more than 6 weeks of backpay. She put a note on my account to expedite it and said I should see the money within 48 hours. I'll update once it comes through!

my brother went thru same thing last year. he had like 2 months of backpay and it took about 10 days after adjudicaiton finished. something about large payments needing extra approval i think

That's exactly what they told me when I called! Large payments need extra approval. Wish the adjudicator had mentioned that to begin with...

Did your money arrive yet? I'm in the same situation now and wondering how long I'll be waiting 😩

Yes! It finally came through this morning - so 8 business days total after adjudication. And it came as one lump sum. Such a relief! Hope yours comes through quickly!
