Quick update on the Claimyr service I mentioned - I just want to clarify that when I used it, I was able to get through to ESD within about 25 minutes instead of spending days trying to call myself. The agent I spoke with told me my employer had actually submitted a response claiming I was terminated for "excessive absences" which was completely untrue. I was able to contest this immediately and provide documentation showing perfect attendance. If I hadn't gotten through, I would have never known what they were claiming. Sometimes finding out what your employer is actually telling ESD is half the battle.
Update: I tried the Claimyr service that was recommended, and I actually got through to ESD! The agent told me my employer DID respond and said I was terminated for "failure to meet performance expectations" but they didn't provide any documentation to back it up. The agent said without documentation, it would likely be decided in my favor, but the adjudication could still take 4-6 more weeks due to backlog. I explained about the lack of write-ups and the positive meeting two weeks before termination, and she added notes to my claim. She also suggested I upload a written statement explaining this in detail, which I just did. Frustrated that my employer wasn't honest with me about not contesting, but at least now I know what I'm dealing with. Thanks everyone for your help!
Great update! This is exactly why it's so important to find out what the employer is saying. The good news is that "failure to meet performance expectations" without documentation is generally not considered misconduct for UI purposes. Poor performance alone usually doesn't disqualify you from benefits unless they can show willful disregard for their legitimate business interests. The notes you had added to your claim and your written statement will help tremendously. Keep filing those weekly claims while you wait!
Has anyone else noticed that these adjudication delays seem worse than last year? My neighbor got approved in just 2 weeks back in 2023, but now everyone I know is waiting MONTHS. It's like they're deliberately slowing things down to make people give up!!
Update: I managed to get through to ESD this morning after trying that Claimyr service someone mentioned. The agent explained they had to reassign a bunch of cases due to staffing issues, which is why my date changed. She said they're working through the backlog as fast as they can, but couldn't promise the new date wouldn't change again. She did note my financial hardship in the system though, so fingers crossed! Thanks everyone for your help and sharing your experiences - made me feel less alone in this frustrating process.
anyone else notice that the ESD site always seems to have "technical difficulties" right when you need it most? lol. i swear they do this on purpose to reduce the number of claims. my partner tried for TWO WEEKS to get in before finally getting through on a tuesday at exactly 10:15am. so maybe try that specific time? not sure if it was just coincidence but worth a shot
Update: I tried clearing my cache and cookies, then used Firefox instead of Chrome like some of you suggested. It worked! I was able to log in at 2pm today and got my claim submitted. Thanks everyone for your help! For anyone else having this issue - definitely try a different browser and clear your cache. Also, mid-afternoon on a weekday seemed to be a good time to access the system.
One more thing to try: check if you can see your weekly claim status under the "Weekly Claims" tab in eServices. Sometimes there's more information there about why a claim is being held. Also, while waiting to get this resolved, make sure you continue completing your job search activities (3 per week) and documenting them. Even though you can't file right now, you'll need to report these activities when you file retroactively after the pending issue is cleared.
Just wanted to follow up - were you able to get through to ESD and resolve this? What was the pending issue in your case?
Update: I finally got through to ESD yesterday! Turns out my former employer questioned my hours worked (they reported fewer hours than I claimed). The agent said they'd expedite the adjudication since it's a relatively small discrepancy. She also helped me file my missed weekly claim over the phone and said I should be able to file online again starting next week. Such a relief!

Another thing to check: did you recently pass your benefit year end date? Sometimes there's a payment gap when your claim rolls over to a new benefit year, even if you have remaining benefits. The system might be recalculating your eligibility. They don't make this clear anywhere in the portal.

•Just checked - my benefit year end date is still a few months away (September 2025). So that's not it either. This is so confusing!

Quick update: just got my payment today! It was just delayed for some reason. The double payment from last week was indeed for a back-week adjustment like someone mentioned. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

•Great news! Their payment processing is so unpredictable sometimes.

•Glad it worked out! This is pretty common with ESD - their payment processing schedule seems to shift randomly sometimes. For future reference, it's helpful to know that while they usually process claims quickly, the actual bank deposit can take 1-3 business days depending on your bank and any holidays.
