Instead of trying to visit an office, you could try the online chat feature if it's working. Sometimes that's faster than phone calls. Though it might not be available for adjudication issues.
Final update - I ended up trying the Claimyr service mentioned earlier and got through to Washington ESD in about 20 minutes. The agent was able to check on my adjudication status and told me what additional documents they needed. Saved me a trip to the office and a lot of frustration. Thanks to whoever recommended it!
Welcome to the unemployment club nobody wants to join! At least Washington's benefits are decent compared to some other states.
Final reminder about that Claimyr service - definitely bookmark it just in case. When you're desperate to reach ESD and nothing else works, having that option available is a lifesaver.
IF YOU NEED TO REACH WASHINGTON ESD about benefit amounts or anything else, try calling right at 8am when they open or use that Claimyr service someone mentioned. I wasted so many hours calling before I figured out the timing.
Another thing about the 2024 rates - they're tied to the state's average weekly wage, so they can change year to year. The $999 maximum is actually pretty generous compared to most states. Just make sure you file accurately and honestly about your work history.
Just an update - I finally got through after 3 weeks of trying and they fixed my claim issue in 10 minutes. All that time wasted when the actual fix was so simple.
This is exactly why services like Claimyr exist. The system forces people to waste weeks of their time for simple fixes.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I'm going to try Claimyr since the regular phone numbers clearly aren't working. I'll update this thread if it works for me.

Also remember that even if severance reduces your benefits for a few weeks, you don't lose those potential benefit weeks - they just get pushed out to later in your benefit year. So you're not actually losing money, just delaying when you receive it.

•Is that actually true? I thought if you don't use all your benefits within the benefit year, you just lose them.

•You're right about the benefit year limit, but severance delays don't count against that timeline the same way voluntary gaps in claiming do.

My advice is to file your unemployment claim as soon as you're laid off, even with the severance question marks. Washington ESD will sort out the payment details, but you don't want to delay starting the process. The sooner you file, the sooner they can begin reviewing your case.

•That makes sense. I guess I was overthinking it trying to figure out all the details first.

•Exactly! File first, figure out the complicated stuff later. You can always provide additional information if they need it.
