The whole process is nerve-wracking when you're depending on that money to survive. Just remember that most people do get approved if they qualify, it just takes time.
One last tip - if you do need to call Washington ESD and can't get through the regular way, that Claimyr service really does work. Worth checking out their demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ to see if it's right for your situation.
One last thought - if anyone needs to speak with Washington ESD directly about disqualification concerns, that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier has been really reliable for getting through to agents. Sometimes you just need that human contact to understand your specific situation better.
I might try that. The phone system is so frustrating and I really need to talk to someone about my quit reason.
I used Claimyr too when I was worried about a potential disqualification. Worth it for the peace of mind when you can actually talk to someone who knows the rules.
Bottom line - be honest, follow the rules, keep good records, and don't be afraid to ask questions or appeal if needed. The system is confusing but most people who follow the guidelines don't have major issues.
Your weekly benefit amount is really just one piece of the puzzle. You also need to make sure you understand the job search requirements and weekly claim filing process. Washington ESD can be picky about that stuff.
Bottom line - your weekly benefit will be roughly 60-70% of what you were making per week when you were working, up to the state maximum. For $52k annually, you're probably looking at $500-650 per week before taxes.
For anyone still reading this thread, I want to mention that if you're really stuck and need to talk to someone at ESD, I found this service called Claimyr that actually gets you through to agents. I was skeptical at first but they got me connected when I'd been trying for days. The website is claimyr.com and they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.
Update for the OP: sounds like you should expect 2-3 weeks total if everything goes smoothly. Make sure you're filing those weekly claims and keep doing job searches. The worst case is probably 4-6 weeks if there are complications, but layoffs are usually pretty straightforward.

One more tip - when you do get your hearing notice, read it carefully. They'll tell you exactly what documents to bring and what the specific issues are that they'll be addressing.

Just got word that my appeal hearing resulted in a favorable decision! Filed in August, hearing in December, decision this week. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

•Congratulations! That gives me hope. How long before you actually got your back pay?

•They said 1-2 weeks for the back pay to process. Much faster than the original wait!
