5 weekly claims all stuck in 'Pending' with same adjudication date - no ESD communication
I'm getting really worried about my unemployment situation. I've filed 5 consecutive weekly claims and every single one is showing as 'Pending' in my ESD account. There's an adjudication date listed (same date for all claims), but no explanation about what's being investigated or why. My dashboard doesn't show any alerts requiring action from me - no questionnaires to complete, no documents to upload, nothing. No letters in my ESD inbox either. It's like my claim is just sitting in limbo. Has anyone experienced this silent treatment from ESD? Should I keep filing weekly claims while waiting? I'm starting to panic about bills since it's been over a month with zero benefits paid. Any guidance on breaking through this mysterious adjudication hold?

Yep happened to me in January. Adjudication with no explanation. Turned out they were verifying my previous employer's info but never told me. Keep filing your weekly claims for sure!

•Thanks for responding! Did you ever receive any communication about the adjudication, or did it just suddenly clear? How long did yours take to resolve?

This is unfortunately common with ESD. The adjudication could be for various reasons - identity verification, employer dispute, wages verification, job separation issues, etc. The most important things to do are: 1. Absolutely continue filing your weekly claims on time 2. Check your ESD account inbox AND your physical mail daily 3. Call ESD directly to find out what the adjudication issue is The adjudication process generally takes 3-6 weeks, but without knowing what they're investigating, it's hard to give you a specific timeline. Try calling early in the morning when their lines first open for the best chance of getting through.

•I've been trying to call for 2 weeks with no luck. I either get disconnected immediately or wait on hold for hours before getting cut off. Is there any special trick to getting through to an actual person?

Call them RIGHT AWAY!!! My claim was stuck in adjudication for 2 months bc they needed ONE PIECE of info from me but never actually notified me about it!!! By the time I got through to them, i coulda had benefits weeks earlier if i'd just known what they wanted!! the system is BROKEN!

•This is good advice - but the hard part is actually getting through to someone at ESD these days. Their phone system has been overwhelmed since early 2025 with the layoffs in tech and manufacturing sectors.

•Wow, that's both reassuring and frustrating. Did you ever find out what the hold-up was? I'm glad you eventually got paid though!

After fighting with ESD's phone system for weeks about my adjudication issue (similar to yours), I finally used a service called Claimyr that got me through to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes. They have a system that basically waits on hold for you then calls you when an agent is available. Saved me days of frustration. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and their site is claimyr.com. It was absolutely worth it to find out my adjudication was just waiting on a simple wage verification that I could have provided weeks earlier if I'd known!

•Did it actually work? I've been seeing ads for them but was skeptical about whether it really helps.

theres probably a question they need you to answer but the system glitched and didnt tell you. happened to my cousin. he went to worksource in person and they helped him figure it out

•That's a good idea! I didn't even think about going to WorkSource. There's one about 20 minutes from me - I'll try that tomorrow morning. Thanks!

Based on my experience working with unemployment cases, here's what's likely happening: When all claims show the same adjudication date, it typically means there's a single issue affecting your entire claim, not individual weekly certifications. Common causes include: 1. Identity verification issues (especially if this is your first claim) 2. Employer contesting your eligibility or separation reason 3. Wage verification discrepancies 4. Potential availability or job search compliance review It's critical that you: 1. Continue filing weekly claims on time 2. Document all job search activities meticulously (3 per week) 3. Reach ESD to determine the specific adjudication reason If your claims are eventually approved, you'll receive all back payments at once. If you find out what's causing the hold and address it promptly, the process will resolve much faster.

•Thank you for this detailed explanation! I'm going to try the WorkSource office tomorrow and also keep trying to call. With everything you've listed, I'm wondering if it might be related to my former employer contesting something, as my separation wasn't exactly amicable.

Quick update suggestion: Once you do speak with ESD and resolve this, please come back and let us know what the issue was. It helps others in similar situations, and the community benefits from knowing how these situations get resolved!
