TWC says not eligible after ID.me FaceTime verification issues - can I still submit work search?
I'm totally confused and panicking right now. I've been trying to verify my identity through ID.me for my DUA claim but keep having problems with the FaceTime verification part - it just won't accept my face or something? I've submitted 6 different claims over the past couple weeks and even called in yesterday to try to get help. Today I checked my account and suddenly it says "not eligible"!!! I also just realized I was supposed to do work search activities last week but with all this verification mess I completely forgot. Is it too late to add my work searches now? Should I just call TWC directly about both issues? Has anyone dealt with something like this before?

•Did you ever get it resolved? I'm freaking out because I really need these benefits and now I don't know if the "not eligible" is because of the ID verification or something else entirely.

There are two separate issues here that you need to handle differently: 1. For the ID.me verification: This is likely why you're seeing "not eligible" - when your identity isn't verified, your claim can't proceed. You should try the ID.me verification one more time but use a different device if possible (borrow someone else's phone with a better camera). Make sure you're in good lighting and remove glasses/hat if you're wearing any. 2. For the work search: Yes, you can still submit your work search activities after the fact. Log into your TWC account, go to the payment request section, and there should be an option to add or update work search activities for previous weeks. Do this ASAP though - you only have a limited window to add them retroactively. Don't panic yet - the "not eligible" status is probably temporary until your identity is verified.

•Thank you! I'll try borrowing my sister's iPhone - mine is pretty old. Do you think I should call TWC directly too? I'm worried about the time window for submitting those work searches.

DO NOT WAIT ANY LONGER!! The TWC system is BROKEN and they WILL use any excuse to deny your benefits! I had almost the EXACT same problem last month - ID.me issues and then suddenly "not eligible" - and I lost out on $2800 because I didn't get through to a real person fast enough!!! The website and automated system are USELESS for fixing these problems!

I've been helping people with TWC claims for the past few years, and I can tell you that the ID.me verification problems are extremely common right now. The "not eligible" status is almost certainly related to the verification issue, not your work search activities. Here's what you should do: 1. Try ID.me one more time using the tips already mentioned (better device, good lighting) 2. For your work searches - you have 7 days after your payment request to add or modify your work search activities, so do that immediately 3. Most importantly - you need to speak with a TWC representative to explain both issues. They can often override the ID.me requirement if you verify directly with them, and they can advise on your specific situation. The challenge is getting through to TWC by phone. Regular calling can take days of redials. I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they've helped many people get through to TWC quickly. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Don't worry too much about the "not eligible" status yet - I've seen many cases where this was resolved with a simple phone call to explain the verification issues.

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll try the ID.me one more time tonight and will definitely add my work searches immediately. I've been trying to call TWC for DAYS with no luck - just busy signals or getting disconnected. I'll check out that Claimyr service right now because I'm desperate to talk to a real person who can help.

I'm currently dealing with something similar. The whole ID.me process is ridiculous - I think they've made it intentionally difficult to reduce the number of claims. I finally got through to someone at TWC yesterday (took 4 hours of calling and redialing) and they told me that the "not eligible" status is temporary while identity verification is pending. They can actually help you verify over the phone if you can get through to them. As for the work search, definitely submit it now - better late than never. They told me there's a 7-day grace period for entering work search activities after your payment request date.

•i thought the grace period was 3 days not 7???

•No, it's definitely 7 days for work search activities. You might be thinking of the deadline for requesting payment, which is different.

•This is TERRIBLE advice that could get someone in serious trouble! TWC can and WILL investigate false statements and you can end up having to repay ALL benefits plus penalties!!! Don't listen to this person!!!

I wanted to follow up on the ID.me issue specifically. If you've tried multiple times and it's still not working, there's an alternative verification path. On the ID.me screen where it asks you to do the video verification, look for a small link that says "verify your identity another way" or similar wording. This will take you to a path where you can upload documents manually and then do a video call with an ID.me representative (not automated). It takes longer but has a much higher success rate for people having technical difficulties.

•Thank you! I didn't even notice that option. I'll look for it tonight when I try again.

anyone else think its weird we have to use a 3rd party app to verify for govt benefits? seems fishy to me

•It's BEYOND fishy! They're collecting your biometric data and who knows what they're doing with it! But we have no choice if we want our benefits. The whole system is designed to make it harder to claim what we're entitled to!

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know what happened. I finally got through to a TWC representative thanks to the Claimyr service (that actually worked!). The rep confirmed the "not eligible" status was because of the ID verification issue. They helped me verify my identity directly on the phone (asked me questions about my work history and previous addresses) and said it would override the ID.me requirement. They also let me submit my late work search activities since it was within the 7-day window. My status is back to "under review" now which the rep said is normal while they process everything. Such a relief! Thank you all for the advice!

•That's great to hear! The "under review" status is definitely normal after identity verification. You should see movement on your claim within 3-5 business days. Make sure to keep up with your work search activities for future payment requests to avoid any further issues.
