TWC account expedited - how long until you hear from an agent?

So I finally got desperate enough to pay for expediting my TWC unemployment claim yesterday. It's been stuck in "pending" status for almost 3 weeks with no movement at all, and I was going crazy trying to get through on the phone. Has anyone else paid to expedite their claim? How quickly did TWC actually get back to you after that? The email said 48-72 hours but I'm skeptical since everything with TWC seems to take forever. Really need this resolved before rent is due next week!

I did this last month when my benefits suddenly stopped. They called me back in about 36 hours, which was a HUGE relief. Definitely worth it when ur desperate.

That's really encouraging to hear! Was it a TWC agent who called you directly? And did they actually fix your issue during that call or just take info?

I think you might be confusing a few things here. TWC doesn't actually offer an expedited service themselves - they don't have a way for you to pay to move your claim up in the queue. If you paid for a service, it was likely a third-party that's helping you reach a TWC agent. Can you clarify what service you used exactly? That will help us give you better information about what to expect.

Oh! I used Claimyr to get through to TWC. I thought they were affiliated with the state somehow. So it's just a way to skip the phone queue then? Will that actually help move my claim forward or did I waste my money?

I used Claimyr back in January when my TWC account got locked after ID.me verification issues. They connected me to a TWC agent within about 2 hours of signing up. The agent was able to see exactly what was holding up my claim and fixed it during that call. My payment was processed the next business day. The key is being prepared with all your info when they call - have your TWC account number, last 4 of SSN, and any determination letter info ready. The agents can actually help if you can just reach them! Here's their site if anyone else needs it: claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh

LOL TWC is a JOKE!! I waited 6 WEEKS with my claim "pending" and called HUNDREDS of times. Never got through to anyone. Finally I just gave up and found a new job. The whole system is BROKEN and designed to make you give up. Good luck even with the expedite service, they'll probably just tell you to wait another month for "processing" or some other BS excuse.

That's exactly what I'm afraid of... that even if I get through to someone they won't be able to help. I'm already looking for work but really need this money to cover bills in the meantime.

I used Claimyr too about 2 months ago. They got me through to a TWC person in like 3-4 hours. The lady I talked to was super helpful and found that my identity verification hadn't gone through properly even though I'd done everything right. She fixed it right there and my claim went from pending to approved by the next day. It's not actually expediting your claim, it's just getting you past the phone system so you can talk to someone who can see what's wrong.

One important thing to know is that when TWC calls you back, they won't be able to tell you it's TWC calling because of privacy policies. They'll just say it's a call about your recent inquiry. Make sure you answer calls from numbers you don't recognize in the next 24-48 hours. I missed my first callback and had to start over!

Thanks for the heads up! I've been letting unknown numbers go to voicemail because of all the spam calls I get. I'll make sure to answer everything for the next couple days.

my cousin works for TWC and says they have a HUGE backlog right now bcuz of all the layoffs in tech and oil. she said even with expediting or whatever your using it can still take a week or more to get someone to actually review your claim once you talk to them. the person on the phone just flags it in their system

This isn't entirely accurate. While TWC does have backlogs that vary throughout the year, speaking with an agent can resolve many issues immediately. It depends on what's flagging your claim. Identity verification issues, work search documentation problems, or employer response discrepancies can often be resolved during a single call if you reach the right department. Payment processing typically happens within 2-3 business days after issues are cleared, not weeks.

UPDATE: Just got a call from TWC this morning! So it took about 18 hours after using Claimyr. The agent was super helpful and found that my claim was pending because of an employer response issue. My former company had checked the wrong box about my separation reason. The agent submitted a correction request and said my claim should be processed within 3-5 business days. Huge relief! Definitely worth it to actually talk to someone who could see the specific problem.

Great news! This is exactly why getting through to an actual agent is so important - most claims that are stuck have simple issues that can be quickly identified and resolved. Make sure to keep doing your payment requests on your regular schedule while waiting for the final approval.
