TWC 'Under Review' message disappeared - Does this mean approval or denial?

Hey everyone, I've been checking my TWC unemployment account daily for 3 weeks and it's been showing 'Under Review' status the whole time. This morning I logged in and that message is completely gone! There's no new status message replacing it though. Does this mean my claim is approved? Denied? Still processing? I'm freaking out a little because rent is due next week and I really need to know if I'll be getting benefits. Has anyone else experienced the review message disappearing before getting a final decision? What happened in your case?

It's usually a good sign when the 'Under Review' message disappears. In most cases, this means TWC has finished reviewing your claim and a determination has been made. You should receive an official determination letter within 2-3 business days explaining their decision. You can also check your correspondence inbox on the TWC portal for any new messages. If no determination letter appears, you might want to check your payment status tab to see if there's any movement there. Some people see payment pending before they even get the official approval letter.

Thank you! I just checked my correspondence tab and there's nothing new there yet. The payment tab still shows $0 too. Guess I need to be patient a little longer. It's just so nerve-wracking not knowing!

That gives me hope! I'll keep checking my email and the TWC portal. Did your payment status change before you got the email, or did everything update at once?

When my "under review" message disappeared back in Feb, I ended up getting DENIED 3 days later because they said I didn't have enough qualifying wages in my base period!!! The system is SO broken and misleading! Just because the message disappears DOESN'T mean approval. They make you wait forever just to tell you NO. I had to file an appeal and THAT took another 5 weeks before I finally got approved. The whole system is designed to wear you down so you'll give up!!!

Not everyone gets denied tho. My review message went away and I got approved right after. Depends on your situation.

The message disappearing typically means they've completed their review of your claim, but it doesn't automatically mean approval or denial. Here's what you should do: 1. Check your correspondence inbox twice daily 2. Look for any pending payment amounts in your payment history tab 3. Verify your contact information is up to date 4. Continue requesting payments on your scheduled days even while waiting If you don't see anything within 3-4 business days, you should try contacting TWC directly. I know their phone lines are almost impossible to get through, but I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to connect with an agent when I was in a similar situation. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. I was connected to a TWC agent in about 25 minutes instead of spending days hitting redial.

Thank you for the detailed info! I've been requesting payments as scheduled, but haven't seen any updates yet. If I don't see anything by Monday, I might try that Claimyr service. I've already wasted so many hours trying to get through on the phone.

Oh great, so it might just be a glitch? That's reassuring and concerning at the same time. How long did your whole process take from start to finish?

This happens quite commonly with the TWC system. The disappearance of the "Under Review" message generally indicates that the examiner has made a determination on your claim, but there's administrative processing that happens before you receive the official notification. Here's what's likely happening: 1. The claim examiner has completed their review and entered a determination 2. The system is now processing that determination (calculating benefit amounts, etc.) 3. The determination letter is being generated and queued for delivery Typically, you'll see the result within 2-5 business days after the message disappears. Continue requesting payments during this time as scheduled. If your claim is approved, those payment requests will be processed retroactively. Also, make sure you're completing your work search activities (minimum 3 per week) and documenting them correctly, as this will be required regardless of when your claim is approved.

Thank you for explaining the process! I've been doing my 3 work search activities every week and documenting everything carefully. It's good to know that I should keep requesting payments - I wasn't sure if I should continue doing that while waiting.

I've tried calling about 20 times over the past week - either get a busy signal or the automated message saying call volumes are too high and to try again later. It's so frustrating!

For everyone saying "just call TWC" - HAHAHAHA! Good luck with that! I tried for THREE WEEKS straight to get through. Would set my alarm for 7:58am just to start dialing right at 8:00 when they open and STILL couldn't get through. The whole system is BROKEN!!!

Just wanted to follow up - any updates on your claim status? Did you receive a determination letter yet?

Yes! I got good news this morning - my claim was approved! The determination letter appeared in my correspondence inbox and I'm eligible for $425 weekly. Such a relief. Thanks to everyone who helped with advice while I was freaking out!

Congratulations! That's awesome news! $425 weekly is a good amount too. How long did it take from when the "under review" message disappeared to getting your approval letter? This gives me hope for others who are still waiting.

How long did it take after the message dissapeared to find out you were approved

It took exactly 4 days from when the "under review" message disappeared to getting my approval letter. Monday morning the message was gone, and Friday morning I had the determination letter in my correspondence inbox. Those 4 days felt like forever though! @QuantumQuest congrats again on the approval!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My "under review" message disappeared 2 days ago and I've been obsessively checking my account every few hours. Reading through these responses is actually really helpful - sounds like 2-5 business days is pretty normal for getting the determination letter after the message disappears. The waiting is killing me though, especially with bills piling up. At least now I know I should keep doing my payment requests and work search activities while waiting. Fingers crossed we both get good news soon!

Hang in there! I know exactly how you're feeling - that constant checking and refreshing becomes almost compulsive when you're waiting for such important news. The fact that you're keeping up with your payment requests and work search activities shows you're doing everything right. From what I've read in this thread, it seems like most people get their determination within that 2-5 day window after the message disappears. Try to stay busy if you can (easier said than done, I know!) and remember that no news isn't necessarily bad news - the system just takes time to process everything. Hoping you get your approval letter soon! 🤞

I went through this exact same situation last month! The "under review" message disappeared on a Wednesday and I was panicking just like you. Turns out I got my approval letter the following Monday (so 5 business days later). What really helped my anxiety was setting specific times to check the portal instead of constantly refreshing - I checked once in the morning and once in the evening. Also, make sure you're checking both your correspondence inbox AND your payment history tab, because sometimes one updates before the other. The waiting is absolutely brutal when you have bills due, but from everything I've seen in this community, the message disappearing is usually a positive sign that they've finished their review. Keep requesting your payments as scheduled and hang in there - you should have an answer very soon!

This is really helpful advice! I think I need to stop the constant refreshing - it's making me more anxious and isn't going to speed up the process anyway. Setting specific check times is a great idea. I've been checking my correspondence inbox but didn't think to look at the payment history tab too, so I'll start monitoring both. Thanks for sharing your timeline - 5 business days isn't too bad when you know what to expect. It's reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same thing recently!

I'm currently dealing with this exact situation too! My "under review" message disappeared yesterday and I've been nervously checking my account every hour since then. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly reassuring - it sounds like the disappearance of that message is generally a good sign that they've completed their review process. I'm trying to follow the advice about checking at set times instead of constantly refreshing, but it's so hard when you're stressed about finances! I've been keeping up with my payment requests and work search requirements just in case. For those who got approved after their message disappeared, did you notice any other changes in your account before getting the official letter? Like changes to your benefit year information or payment status? Hoping we all get positive news soon!
