TWC approved my claim by letter but online status still says 'under review' - confused!
So confused right now! I received an official determination letter dated 7/9 saying my unemployment claim was APPROVED, but when I log into my TWC account online, the status still shows 'TWC is reviewing my claim' a week later. Has anyone experienced this disconnect between paper approval and online status? I've called the 800 number about 20 times but can't get through to a real person. Is this just a system delay or should I be worried that something's wrong with my claim? I need to start requesting payments but don't want to mess anything up if my claim isn't actually approved in their system.

dont worry this is totally normal with TWC. their letters and online system NEVER sync up. my approval letter came like 10 days before my online status updated. just keep requesting payments on your scheduled days!

•Thanks for the reassurance. So I should go ahead and submit my payment request even though the system still says under review? I'm just paranoid about doing something wrong and delaying things even more.

The discrepancy between your approval letter and online status is common with TWC. Their systems don't update simultaneously. The determination letter is the official decision, so your claim is indeed approved. The online portal typically updates within 7-10 business days after the determination date. Most importantly: YES, you should absolutely continue requesting payments on your scheduled day regardless of what the online status shows. Failing to request payments on time can result in benefit delays or even disqualification for those weeks. Your payment requests will be processed once the system fully updates. If you want absolute confirmation, you can call TWC's Tele-Serv automated system at 800-558-8321 to check if payments are being processed. This doesn't require speaking to a representative.

•This is EXACTLY why TWC is THE WORST!! They send approval letters but don't update their own system?? And then expect us to somehow just KNOW to keep filing anyway?? What kind of backwards system is this??? I lost 2 weeks of benefits because of this same problem and NO ONE would help me get them back!!

The paper determination letter is your official approval document. TWC's database updates slower than their physical mail system, which creates this confusing situation. Here's what you need to do: 1. Save that determination letter - it's your proof of approval if questions arise 2. Continue requesting payments on your designated days (this is critical!) 3. Complete all 3 required work search activities each week 4. Document everything in case there are questions later The online status should update within 2 weeks. If it goes longer than that, you might want to contact them, but honestly, as long as you're able to submit payment requests, you're fine.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I just submitted my first payment request even though the status still shows under review. Fingers crossed it goes through. I'm doing all my work searches and documenting everything like you suggested.

I went through this exact situation in May. Got my approval letter but online still said "under review" for almost 3 weeks! I was pulling my hair out trying to call TWC with zero luck - constant busy signals and disconnections. I finally found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an actual TWC agent in under 20 minutes. The agent confirmed my claim was approved and that the online system was just behind. You can see how it works in their demo video: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Saved me days of redialing and stress. Might be worth it if you need immediate confirmation that everything's ok with your claim.

•is this legit? seems kinda sketchy to use a third party service to reach TWC

•Yeah it's legit - they basically just keep dialing for you using their system. TWC is so understaffed it's almost impossible to get through otherwise. My cousin used it too when she had issues with her work search requirements.

i had a similar thing happen but my situation was that they approved me then a week later sent a letter saying i was denied??? so confusing! i ended up having to appeal and it took 2 months to sort out. hopefully yours is just the normal twc slowness and not something more complicated!

•Oh no, that sounds awful! Did you ever figure out why they denied you after approving? Now I'm worried the same thing might happen to me...

•they said my employer contested it after the initial approval. but sounds like ur situation is different since its been a week with no denial letter. ur probably fine!

Just checking back - was your online status updated yet? If your payment request went through successfully, that's another good sign your claim is properly approved in their system, even if the status display hasn't caught up.

•Update: My payment request went through AND my status finally updated to approved yesterday! Took exactly 12 days after the letter date. You all were right about just being patient. Thanks for the help everyone!
