TWC approved my claim by letter but online status still says 'under review' - confused!
So confused right now! I received an official determination letter dated 7/9 saying my unemployment claim was APPROVED, but when I log into my TWC account online, the status still shows 'TWC is reviewing my claim' a week later. Has anyone experienced this disconnect between paper approval and online status? I've called the 800 number about 20 times but can't get through to a real person. Is this just a system delay or should I be worried that something's wrong with my claim? I need to start requesting payments but don't want to mess anything up if my claim isn't actually approved in their system.

dont worry this is totally normal with TWC. their letters and online system NEVER sync up. my approval letter came like 10 days before my online status updated. just keep requesting payments on your scheduled days!

•Thanks for the reassurance. So I should go ahead and submit my payment request even though the system still says under review? I'm just paranoid about doing something wrong and delaying things even more.

The discrepancy between your approval letter and online status is common with TWC. Their systems don't update simultaneously. The determination letter is the official decision, so your claim is indeed approved. The online portal typically updates within 7-10 business days after the determination date. Most importantly: YES, you should absolutely continue requesting payments on your scheduled day regardless of what the online status shows. Failing to request payments on time can result in benefit delays or even disqualification for those weeks. Your payment requests will be processed once the system fully updates. If you want absolute confirmation, you can call TWC's Tele-Serv automated system at 800-558-8321 to check if payments are being processed. This doesn't require speaking to a representative.

•This is EXACTLY why TWC is THE WORST!! They send approval letters but don't update their own system?? And then expect us to somehow just KNOW to keep filing anyway?? What kind of backwards system is this??? I lost 2 weeks of benefits because of this same problem and NO ONE would help me get them back!!

The paper determination letter is your official approval document. TWC's database updates slower than their physical mail system, which creates this confusing situation. Here's what you need to do: 1. Save that determination letter - it's your proof of approval if questions arise 2. Continue requesting payments on your designated days (this is critical!) 3. Complete all 3 required work search activities each week 4. Document everything in case there are questions later The online status should update within 2 weeks. If it goes longer than that, you might want to contact them, but honestly, as long as you're able to submit payment requests, you're fine.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I just submitted my first payment request even though the status still shows under review. Fingers crossed it goes through. I'm doing all my work searches and documenting everything like you suggested.

I went through this exact situation in May. Got my approval letter but online still said "under review" for almost 3 weeks! I was pulling my hair out trying to call TWC with zero luck - constant busy signals and disconnections. I finally found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an actual TWC agent in under 20 minutes. The agent confirmed my claim was approved and that the online system was just behind. You can see how it works in their demo video: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Saved me days of redialing and stress. Might be worth it if you need immediate confirmation that everything's ok with your claim.

•is this legit? seems kinda sketchy to use a third party service to reach TWC

•Yeah it's legit - they basically just keep dialing for you using their system. TWC is so understaffed it's almost impossible to get through otherwise. My cousin used it too when she had issues with her work search requirements.

i had a similar thing happen but my situation was that they approved me then a week later sent a letter saying i was denied??? so confusing! i ended up having to appeal and it took 2 months to sort out. hopefully yours is just the normal twc slowness and not something more complicated!

•Oh no, that sounds awful! Did you ever figure out why they denied you after approving? Now I'm worried the same thing might happen to me...

•they said my employer contested it after the initial approval. but sounds like ur situation is different since its been a week with no denial letter. ur probably fine!

Just checking back - was your online status updated yet? If your payment request went through successfully, that's another good sign your claim is properly approved in their system, even if the status display hasn't caught up.

•Update: My payment request went through AND my status finally updated to approved yesterday! Took exactly 12 days after the letter date. You all were right about just being patient. Thanks for the help everyone!

Glad to hear everything worked out! This is such a common issue with TWC that they really should put some kind of warning on their website about the delay between approval letters and online status updates. Would save everyone so much stress and confusion. Your experience is definitely going to help the next person who searches for this same problem!

This is such a relief to read! I'm dealing with the exact same situation right now - got my approval letter on Friday but online status still shows "under review." I was getting so anxious about whether I should request payments or not. Based on everyone's experiences here, it sounds like I should just go ahead and submit my payment request this week. It's crazy how TWC's systems are so out of sync with each other, but at least now I know it's normal. Thanks for posting this question - saved me from stressing out all weekend!

•You're absolutely right to go ahead and submit your payment request! I was in the same boat just a few weeks ago and everyone here gave me such great advice. The approval letter is what matters - that's your official green light. I ended up requesting payments while my status still showed "under review" and everything processed just fine. My status finally updated about 12 days after my letter date, so don't panic if it takes a couple weeks. Just make sure you keep doing your work searches and document everything. This community has been such a lifesaver for navigating TWC's confusing system!

This thread is so reassuring! I'm going through the exact same thing right now - got my approval letter last Tuesday but my online account still says "claim under review." I was worried I'd done something wrong or that there was an issue with my application. Reading everyone's experiences here confirms this is just how TWC operates unfortunately. Their systems really need to be better synchronized - it's stressful enough being unemployed without having to worry about conflicting information from the same agency! I'm going to follow the advice here and submit my payment request this week even though the status hasn't updated yet. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this community is invaluable for navigating TWC's quirks!

•I'm so glad this thread exists too! I just went through this exact situation last month and it was nerve-wracking. The disconnect between TWC's paper approvals and online system is honestly ridiculous, but unfortunately it's completely normal. You're making the right choice submitting your payment request - that approval letter is your golden ticket! I held onto mine like it was made of gold until everything finally synced up. It took about 10 days for my online status to catch up, but my payments processed without any issues. Just stay on top of your work searches and you'll be fine. This community really does help make sense of TWC's chaos!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Got my approval letter on Wednesday but my online status is still stuck on "under review" - it's been 5 days and I was starting to panic. This thread is such a relief because I was convinced something was wrong with my claim. It's honestly ridiculous that TWC can't get their own systems to talk to each other properly. How hard is it to update a status when you mail out an approval letter?? Anyway, thanks to everyone's advice here I'm going to go ahead and submit my payment request tomorrow even though the online status hasn't changed. I've been hesitant because I didn't want to mess anything up, but it sounds like the approval letter is what really matters. Fingers crossed my status updates soon so I can stop obsessively checking the website every few hours!

•You're definitely making the right call submitting your payment request! I was in your exact shoes a few months back - approval letter in hand but that dreaded "under review" status mocking me online. It's maddening how TWC operates like it's still 1995 with their systems not talking to each other. I obsessively refreshed that status page too until I finally accepted it was just going to take time. Your approval letter is your proof - screenshot it, save it, print extra copies if you need to! The peace of mind from everyone's experiences here is invaluable. You'll probably see that status flip to approved within the next week or two, but in the meantime just keep doing what you're supposed to do and everything will work out fine.

This is such a helpful thread! I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now - got my approval letter last Friday but my online status is still showing "under review" 4 days later. I was getting really anxious about whether something went wrong with my claim, but reading everyone's experiences here is so reassuring. It's honestly wild that TWC's own systems can't stay in sync with each other - you'd think in 2024 they could figure out how to update a website status when they mail out approval letters! I've been hesitant to submit my payment request because I was worried about messing something up, but based on all the advice here I'm definitely going to go ahead and request my payments this week. That approval letter seems to be the real deal regardless of what the online portal says. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this community is a lifesaver for navigating TWC's confusing processes!

•You're absolutely doing the right thing by going ahead with your payment request! I just went through this exact same situation a couple weeks ago and it was so stressful until I found this thread. The approval letter is definitely the official word - that's what TWC uses internally even if their website is stuck in the stone age. I ended up submitting my payment requests while my status still said "under review" and everything processed perfectly fine. My online status finally updated after about 8 days, but the payments were already being processed before that happened. Just keep that approval letter safe and document everything you do. This community really helped me stay sane during the whole process!

I'm dealing with this EXACT same situation right now! Got my approval letter on Monday but my online account still shows "claim under review" - it's been 4 days and I was starting to freak out thinking something was wrong. This thread is such a huge relief because now I know it's just TWC being TWC with their outdated systems that can't talk to each other. It's honestly embarrassing that in 2024 a state agency can't sync up their own databases. Like, you'd think when they print and mail an approval letter, someone would click a button to update the online status too? But apparently that's too much to ask from TWC. Anyway, based on everyone's advice here I'm definitely going to submit my payment request this week even though the website still says "under review." That approval letter is apparently the golden ticket and I'm going to guard it with my life! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - knowing this is normal (even if ridiculous) takes a huge weight off my shoulders.

•I totally feel your frustration! I went through this same nightmare last month - approval letter in hand but that stupid "under review" status just sitting there like it's broken. It really is embarrassing that TWC can't get their act together with basic technology. I mean, my bank can instantly update my account when I make a deposit, but TWC can't update a status when they mail a letter?? You're 100% right to go ahead with your payment request though. That approval letter is your proof and everyone here has confirmed it works even when the online system is lagging behind. I actually called it my "golden ticket" too! Keep copies of everything and you'll be fine. The status will eventually catch up - mine took about 9 days but my payments processed without any issues. This community really is a lifesaver for dealing with TWC's stone-age systems!

This exact same thing just happened to me! Got my approval letter yesterday but my online status is still stuck on "under review." I was literally about to have a panic attack thinking they made some mistake, but reading through all these comments is such a relief. It's honestly mind-blowing that TWC can't get their systems to work together - like how is this even possible in 2024? Based on everyone's experiences here, I'm definitely going to submit my payment request this week even though the website hasn't caught up yet. That approval letter seems to be the real deal regardless of what their ancient online system says. I'm going to keep checking obsessively anyway because that's just who I am, but at least now I know it's normal TWC dysfunction and not something wrong with my claim. Thanks to everyone who shared their stories - this community is seriously saving my sanity right now!

•I totally get that panic feeling! I went through the exact same thing a few weeks ago and was convinced there was some error with my claim. It's seriously ridiculous that TWC operates like they're still using paper filing systems from the 1980s - how do they not have basic database synchronization in 2024?? But yeah, that approval letter is your golden ticket regardless of what their broken website says. I obsessively checked my status every few hours too until it finally updated after about 10 days. Just go ahead with your payment request and keep doing your work searches - you're approved and that's what matters! This thread literally saved my mental health when I was going through the same stress.

I'm going through this EXACT situation right now too! Just got my approval letter on Thursday but my online status is still showing "TWC is reviewing my claim" - it's been 3 days and I was getting so worried that something was wrong. Reading through all these comments is such a huge relief because now I realize this is just how TWC's broken system works. It's honestly insane that a state agency in 2024 can't sync their own databases. Like, when they hit print on that approval letter, how hard would it be to also update the online status at the same time? But apparently that's asking too much from TWC's Stone Age technology. I was really hesitant about submitting my payment request while the status still says "under review" because I didn't want to mess anything up, but based on everyone's advice here I'm definitely going to go ahead with it this week. That approval letter seems to be the real proof that matters, not whatever their website says. Going to keep multiple copies of that letter just in case! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - knowing this is "normal" TWC chaos really helps ease the anxiety.
