Filed in December, still no TWC deposit in February - anyone else waiting this long?
I filed my unemployment claim with TWC back on December 18th and I'm STILL waiting on my first payment to hit my account. My claim status shows 'approved' and I've been submitting my payment requests every two weeks like clockwork. Called the Tele-Serv number and it just says my claim is 'being processed' with no other details. I've tried calling the customer service line about 50 times but it's always busy or disconnects me. I'm getting really stressed because my savings are almost gone. Has anyone else been waiting since December? Is this normal or should I be panicking at this point? My previous employer was in healthcare if that matters.

•At least I'm not alone! Have you been able to get through to anyone on the phone? I'm starting to worry something is wrong with my claim.

This happened to me last year. Your claim might be flagged for an identity verification issue, especially if you worked in healthcare (they often have additional verification steps). Have you received any correspondence in your TWC correspondence inbox about ID.me verification? Check that first. If nothing's there, you need to speak with an agent to see what's holding up your claim. The backlog is worse after the holidays, but 7+ weeks is definitely too long for an approved claim with no payment.

•Thank you! I did complete the ID.me verification when I first filed, and my online account shows that step as completed. I'll double-check my correspondence inbox again. Any tips on how to actually reach a human at TWC? I've been trying for weeks with no luck.

I was stuck in the same situation last month after filing in late November. Try calling EXACTLY at 7:00 AM when they open - that's how I finally got through. Also, check if there's an "unresolved issue" listed anywhere on your claim status page. Mine had an issue with my work search activities that I didn't even notice at first. TWC is seriously backed up right now because of all the seasonal layoffs that happened in December.

•Thanks for the tip about calling at 7AM sharp. I'll try that tomorrow. I don't see any unresolved issues listed on my account, that's what's so frustrating! Just says "approved" with no payment date.

I work with people in your situation all the time. Here's what's likely happening: Even though your claim shows as "approved," there might be a wage verification or separation issue that needs to be resolved before payment can be released. TWC often marks claims as approved while still having an internal hold. Some things to check: 1. Look at your "Claim and Payment Status" section - does it show a specific benefit amount? 2. Check if all your quarterly wages are correctly listed 3. Verify your payment method is properly set up (direct deposit or debit card) 4. Make sure your work search logs are complete for each payment request Most importantly, you NEED to speak with a claims examiner. The standard TWC line won't be able to see the specific hold on your account.

•Thank you for the detailed response! Yes, my claim shows a specific weekly benefit amount ($376) and all my quarterly wages appear correct. My direct deposit info is set up and verified. I've definitely been completing my 3 work search activities each week and documenting them with my payment requests. Sounds like I absolutely need to talk to someone to figure this out.

I waited 6 WEEKS after being approved before getting my first payment, this was back in October. Then all of a sudden like $2,400 showed up in my account one day. TWC is a MESS right now. You have to be persistent!!

•wow that gives me hope!! did they pay retroactive for all those weeks??

•Yep, they paid everything backdated to when I first filed. That's why it was such a big deposit when it finally came through.

have you tried messaging them through the portal? sometimes they respond to that faster than picking up the phone. worth a shot.

•I've sent two messages through the portal with no response yet. I'll keep trying that avenue too, though. Thanks!

After dealing with the same issue, I finally used Claimyr to get through to TWC last week. Literally waited on hold for WEEKS before discovering this service. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh - basically it holds your place in line and calls you when an agent is available. I was skeptical but it worked and I found out my claim had a "pending review" flag that wasn't visible on my account. Got it cleared up and my payment was processed two days later. Just go to claimyr.com if you're tired of constant busy signals. Best thing I did after weeks of frustration.

•Thank you so much for this suggestion! I'm definitely going to check this out. At this point I'll try anything to get this resolved. Did they tell you why your claim had that pending review flag?

•In my case, it was because my former employer contested that I was laid off (they claimed I quit). I had no idea because nothing showed up in my correspondence inbox about it. The TWC agent was able to see notes on my account that I couldn't access online.

One more important thing to check: Did you verify your identity through ID.me within 14 days of receiving the request? If not, TWC puts your claim on hold. Also, sometimes claims from healthcare workers take longer due to additional verification requirements, particularly if you worked at multiple facilities or agencies within the base period. Based on what you've shared, it sounds like your claim is approved but has an administrative hold that only a claims examiner can see and clear. When you get through to TWC, be sure to ask if there are any "hidden holds" on your account that aren't visible in your online portal.

•I definitely completed the ID.me verification within a few days of filing my claim. I worked at the same hospital for 3 years before being laid off, so I don't think multiple employers is the issue. This "hidden hold" thing seems like the most likely explanation. I'm going to try calling at 7AM tomorrow and also check out that Claimyr service someone mentioned. Really appreciate everyone's help!

Just an update for anyone following this thread - I've been helping a few clients with similar issues. TWC is currently working through a processing backlog from mid-December filings. If your claim was filed after December 15th, you might be caught in this delay. Their system had some technical issues during the holiday period that affected claim processing. Keep requesting payments on schedule even if you haven't received anything yet. Once they clear the hold, you'll receive all backdated payments in one lump sum.

•That's really helpful context, thank you! I'll definitely keep submitting my payment requests every two weeks. Fingers crossed this gets resolved soon.

I'm in the exact same boat! Filed December 20th and still haven't seen a penny. My claim also shows "approved" but no payments. I've been doing everything right - submitting payment requests, completing work searches, the whole nine yards. It's so frustrating to see that we're not alone in this mess. I'm going to try some of the suggestions here like calling at 7AM sharp and checking out that Claimyr service. Really hope TWC gets their act together soon because this is affecting real people's lives! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - at least now I know I'm not going crazy.

•@Fatima Al-Suwaidi - I feel your pain! It s'reassuring to know there are others in the same situation, even though it shouldn t'be this way. The fact that so many December filers are experiencing the same delay suggests it s'definitely a systemic issue with TWC rather than problems with our individual claims. I m'planning to try calling at exactly 7AM tomorrow morning like @Molly Hansen suggested, and I m also'going to look into that Claimyr service @Kelsey Chin mentioned. If I get through to someone, I ll post an'update here about what I find out. Hang in there - from what others have shared, it sounds like once they finally process it, we should get all the backdated payments at once. Stay strong!

I've been following this thread and wanted to share some additional tips that might help. First, when you do get through to TWC, ask specifically about "DUA holds" (Disaster Unemployment Assistance) - sometimes regular claims get flagged in their system if you've ever applied for disaster benefits in the past. Second, if you worked in healthcare, there's often an extra verification step for "essential worker" status that can create delays. Third, try calling the Spanish language line (1-800-939-6631) and ask to be transferred to an English-speaking agent - sometimes that line has shorter wait times. Also, document EVERYTHING - keep screenshots of your claim status, payment request confirmations, and any correspondence. You'll need this if you have to escalate to your state representative's office, which is honestly becoming necessary for some people. TWC's current processing time for December claims is averaging 8-10 weeks according to internal sources, so unfortunately you're still within their "normal" timeframe even though it's absolutely unacceptable.

•@Cole Roush - Thank you for these additional insights! I had no idea about the DUA holds or the Spanish line workaround - that s'really helpful. I definitely haven t'applied for any disaster benefits before, but I ll'make sure to ask about that specifically when I get through. The essential worker verification makes sense too since I was working at a hospital during COVID. I ve'been taking screenshots of everything already, but I ll'make sure to be even more thorough with documentation. 8-10 weeks is just insane though - that s'people s'livelihoods they re'playing with! I really hope it doesn t'come to involving my state rep, but good to know that s'an option if this drags on much longer. Going to try all these strategies tomorrow morning.

I'm in a similar situation but filed on December 15th - so coming up on 11 weeks now with no payment despite being "approved." What's really frustrating is that I've called over 100 times and only got through to a human ONCE, and they just told me to "keep waiting" with no explanation. I've been surviving off credit cards and it's getting really scary financially. One thing I discovered that might help others - if you have a local workforce center, you can sometimes schedule an in-person appointment to review your claim. The counselor at mine was able to see that my claim had some kind of "pending adjudication" status that wasn't visible online. She couldn't fix it but at least gave me more specific information to reference when calling TWC. Also, I've been keeping a detailed log of every call attempt, payment request, and communication. If this goes much longer I'm definitely going to contact my state representative like someone mentioned. This is absolutely unacceptable - people are losing their homes and going hungry while TWC takes their sweet time with "processing.
