PA UC wage dispute timeline? Filed 3 weeks ago with no response yet
I filed a wage dispute with PA UC about 3 weeks ago because my employer reported my wages incorrectly. My weekly benefit amount is way lower than it should be based on what I actually earned last year. Has anyone gone through this process before? I uploaded my W-2 and final paystubs as proof, but haven't heard anything back. The waiting is making me anxious since bills are piling up. How long should I expect before they make a decision? Is there anyone I should contact to check on the status?

I went thru this last year. It took them about 6 weeks to resolve my wage dispute. No communication until i suddenly got a letter in the mail saying my weekly benefit amount was adjusted. Then backpay showed up like 2 days later. Hang in there!

•Thanks for sharing your experience. 6 weeks is so long though! Did you try calling them at all during that time?

The official timeline for wage disputes is 14-21 business days, but that's rarely accurate these days. Since you've already waited 3 weeks, I'd recommend calling to check the status. Make sure you have your wage documentation ready when you speak with them - they might ask for additional information. The most common delay is when they need to contact your employer for verification.

I had a wage dispute resolved in about 4 weeks. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call using Claimyr (claimyr.com) - it's the only way I got through to an actual person. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 2. When you reach a rep, ask specifically for the status of your wage protest and request them to expedite it if possible. 3. If your employer filed incorrectly, make sure the rep notes that you've already provided documentation proving the error. 4. Request they put notes in your file about the financial hardship the delay is causing. Once I spoke with someone, my issue was resolved within a week. The backpay will come all at once when they adjust your WBA.

•I second this! Regular phone lines are useless right now. I tried for THREE DAYS straight last month and couldn't get through. Used Claimyr and was talking to someone in about 20 minutes. Worth it when you're desperate to get answers.

my wage dispute took forever cause my employer disagreed with what i reported. make sure ur employer isnt contestin ur claim or itll drag on even longer. the whole system is designed to make people give up tbh

•I didn't think about that. How would I know if my employer is contesting it? My separation was a layoff so I don't think they'd have a reason to fight it, but who knows.

To follow up on your question about checking if your employer is contesting your wages: Call the UC service center and specifically ask if they've received a response from your employer regarding your wage protest. If they haven't heard back, that could be causing the delay. Also, make sure you check both your physical mail AND your dashboard messages in your PA UC portal. Sometimes they request additional information but only send the notice one way or the other.

•I've been checking my dashboard daily but haven't gotten any mail from them yet. I'll definitely call and ask about my employer's response. Thanks for the advice!

anyone else think its weird they make us wait so long when they literally have our tax records already??? like why do we have to prove anything when the government already has all our w2 info??

•EXACTLY!!! The left hand doesnt know what the right is doing. I had to send my w2 THREE TIMES even though they should already have it. Total incompetence.

UPDATE: I just went through my records and my wage protest actually took 31 days from submission to resolution. Here's the exact timeline if it helps: - Day 1: Submitted wage dispute with W-2 and paystubs - Day 14: Called to check status (on hold for 2+ hours) - Day 15: Got through to someone who said they were "still reviewing" - Day 22: Called again using Claimyr, rep escalated my case - Day 31: Received determination letter with corrected WBA - Day 33: Received all backpay So about a month total. The key was getting someone to escalate it after the initial review period passed.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I'm on day 23 now so I'm going to take your advice and try to get someone to escalate my case. Really appreciate you sharing the detailed timeline.
