PA UC wage review taking forever - can I expedite or call someone?

I'm at my wit's end waiting for PA Unemployment to review my wages. I submitted corrected wage information almost 4 weeks ago after they calculated my benefit rate using incomplete employer data. The online portal just shows 'pending wage review' with no timeline. I've tried calling but can't get through - just constant busy signals. Has anyone gone through a wage review process recently? How long should I expect to wait? Is there any way to speed this up? I'm falling behind on bills while waiting for my correct benefit amount.

I waited 6 weeks for my wage review last month. It's frustrating but thats just how slow they are right now. Keep filing your weekly claims though so when it's approved you'll get backpay.

6 weeks?! That's insane. Did you ever manage to talk to anyone during that time? I'm worried my review might get lost in their system or something.

The wage review process is taking 4-8 weeks currently due to high volume. Make sure you uploaded all your pay stubs and W-2s clearly in the dashboard. If any documents are missing or unclear, they'll reject it without telling you and you'll have to start over. You should also keep checking your dashboard for any correspondence requiring action - they don't always email you when they add something.

Thanks for the info. I did upload everything they asked for (W-2, last 4 paystubs, and the wage correction form). I check the portal daily but there's been no change or new messages. I'm just worried about how I'm supposed to survive for 2 months while they review basic pay information.

I went through this EXACT SAME THING in February!!! It took them 5 weeks to review my wages and I couldn't get ANYONE on the phone no matter how many times I called. The UC system is COMPLETELY BROKEN and they don't care that people are struggling to pay bills while they take their sweet time! I ended up having to borrow money from family just to make rent while waiting.

That's what I'm afraid of... I don't have family I can borrow from and my savings are almost gone. Did calling your state rep help at all? I've heard some people recommend that.

I was in the same position about 6 weeks ago and got desperate after not being able to reach anyone at UC for weeks. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and actually got through to a person at UC within 30 minutes. The rep was able to check on my wage review status and even expedited it when I explained my financial hardship. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Definitely worth it since I was able to get my correct benefit amount processed within a week after that call.

Did this really work?? I might try it cuz I'm in same boat waiting 3 wks already

Yes it actually did. The key was being able to explain my hardship directly to a person instead of just waiting for someone to eventually look at my file. The rep I spoke with said they can flag accounts for expedited review in certain circumstances, but you have to actually reach someone to do that.

The official timeframe for wage review is 4-6 weeks, but many are taking longer due to staffing shortages. A few things to know: 1. Continue filing weekly claims during this time 2. Your payment amount will be adjusted retroactively once approved 3. Make sure you're checking your dashboard for any information requests 4. If you uploaded employer-issued documents (not handwritten), your review should be straightforward If you're experiencing severe financial hardship, there are two options for expediting: 1. Contact your state representative's office and request assistance 2. When you do reach a UC representative, request a "financial hardship expedite" - they can flag your case if you're facing eviction or utility shutoffs

Thank you for this detailed info. I'll try contacting my state rep tomorrow. Is there a specific department or number I should ask for when I call them?

When u do get through tell them ur having extreme financial hardship and maybe facing eviction. That sometimes gets them to speed things up. Worked for my cousin.

lol good luck getting anyone to actually answer at the UC office. I think they have like 3 people working there for the whole state. but seriously though keep trying to call early in the morning right when they open that worked for me once

Update: I tried that Claimyr service and actually got through to someone! The UC rep was able to see that my wage review was still pending but hadn't been assigned. She put a note on my account for expedited review due to financial hardship. Fingers crossed this moves things along. Thanks everyone for your advice - will update when/if I hear anything.

Great to hear you got through! The financial hardship flag should definitely help speed things up. In my experience working with claimants, this usually cuts the wait time by at least half. Keep filing those weekly claims in the meantime.

Let us know if it works! Still waiting on mine too

Final update: My wage review was completed yesterday! It took 5 weeks total, but only 4 days after I got through to someone and had them flag my account for hardship review. My weekly benefit amount increased by $164 and I've already received backpay for the weeks I claimed during the waiting period. So relieved this is finally resolved.

That's awesome! The system is still broken but at least you got it resolved. I'm glad someone was actually able to help you!

Congratulations on getting it resolved! Your experience really shows how important it is to actually speak with someone rather than just waiting. The fact that the hardship flag cut your wait time from potentially 8+ weeks down to just 4 days after contact is incredible. Thanks for sharing the updates - this whole thread will be really helpful for others dealing with the same wage review delays. That $164 increase plus backpay must be such a relief!

This is such a helpful thread! I'm new to dealing with PA UC and was getting really worried about my own wage review that's been pending for 2 weeks. It's encouraging to see that persistence and actually getting through to someone can make such a difference. @Natasha Volkov thanks for sharing all the updates - it gives me hope that mine will get resolved too. I m'definitely going to try that Claimyr service if I can t'get through on my own this week.
