PA UC switched from ReliaCard - What's the new Money Network card look like?

Just completed my waiting week for my PA unemployment claim (let go after 5 years at the same company - still can't believe it). I selected the debit card option instead of direct deposit, but I'm realizing I have NO IDEA what the new card looks like since they stopped using ReliaCard. I'm paranoid I might have thrown it out thinking it was junk mail or credit card spam! Can anyone tell me what the Money Network card envelope/packaging looks like so I know what to watch for in my mail? Also, how long after the waiting week should I expect to receive it? Really don't want to miss this with rent coming up!!

Let me know if yours comes!! How long has it been since your waiting week? This is stressing me out!

The Money Network card comes in a plain white envelope with a Tennessee return address. It's very easy to mistake for junk mail! The envelope doesn't say anything about unemployment on the outside (for privacy reasons). After your waiting week, it usually takes 7-10 business days for the card to arrive. Once you get it, you'll need to activate it by calling the number on the sticker and setting up a PIN. Make sure to keep checking your claim status online to confirm your payments are being processed correctly.

Thank you!! That's exactly what I needed to know. I'll keep an eye out for a white envelope from Tennessee. Do you know if the card itself says Money Network on it? Just want to make sure I know what I'm looking for when I open it.

Yes, the card says Money Network on it. It's a basic blue debit card with Money Network branding. It functions just like any other debit card - you can use it at ATMs, stores, or transfer funds to your personal bank account. Just remember there could be fees for certain transactions, so read the materials that come with it carefully.

WATCH OUT!!!! They send it in the most PLAIN envelope ever!!! I literally almost threw mine away thinking it was credit card spam!!! The return address is from Tennessee and there's NOTHING on it saying its unemployment or PA UC or anything official!! This is exactly why so many people lose their cards!!! After the waiting week, mine took like 2 weeks to show up. System is ridiculous!

Money Network replaced ReliaCard for PA UC benefits in early 2023. The card comes in a white windowed envelope with a Tennessee return address (Chattanooga, I believe). It's intentionally discreet and doesn't mention unemployment on the outside. Timeline after waiting week: - Approximately 3-5 business days for payment to process - Another 7-10 business days for card to arrive in mail If you don't receive it within 3 weeks after your waiting week, call PA UC. You can also check if payments have been issued by logging into your dashboard at uc.pa.gov and checking your payment history. You can also switch to direct deposit anytime through your PA UC dashboard if you're concerned about the card.

This is really helpful, thank you! I'll give it 3 weeks before I start to panic. I might actually switch to direct deposit now that I think about it - seems easier than waiting for this card.

I had such a nightmare with my Money Network card! You should just switch to direct deposit now before they even send you the card. I waited 3 weeks after my waiting week, card never came, had to call and request a replacement which took ANOTHER 2 weeks. Meanwhile bills piling up! The UC phone lines were impossible to get through to as well.

I had the exact same issue trying to contact PA UC about my missing card. After days of busy signals and getting disconnected, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through. They have this service that connects you directly to a UC agent. Saved me hours of redial hell! There's a quick video that explains how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. I got through to someone in about 20 minutes instead of days of trying. They were able to expedite my replacement card.

Thanks! Did you remember how many days it took after your waiting week ended? Just trying to figure out when I should start worrying if I haven't gotten it.

My grandma threw hers away thinking it was junk mail and had to wait a whole month for a replacement! The system is so stupid. Why not just use direct deposit for everyone???

They actually give claimants the option between direct deposit and the debit card at the beginning of the claim process. Some people prefer the card option because they don't have a bank account or want to keep their benefits separate from their regular finances. But you're right that the nondescript envelope causes a lot of problems.
