What do the new PA UC Money Network debit cards for 2025 look like?
Just found out I qualify for PA unemployment benefits but I'm confused about the debit card they're supposed to send. What do the new 2025 Money Network cards look like? Are they still gray? I heard they changed them this year. Also, how long after approval did it take for yours to arrive in the mail? I want to make sure I don't accidentally throw it away thinking it's junk mail.

The new PA UC Money Network cards for 2025 are blue with a silver/white stripe across the middle. They come in a plain white envelope that's easy to mistake for junk mail, so check ALL your mail carefully. Mine took about 8 days to arrive after my claim was approved. The envelope will have a return address from Money Network in Indiana - NOT from Pennsylvania.

•Thanks!! I'll keep an eye out for a blue card then. Do you know if theres a way to track when its sent out? My mailbox is shared with neighbors and sometimes stuff disappears.

•That's incorrect. The PA UC program switched from U.S. Bank ReliaCards (gray) to Money Network cards (blue) in January 2025. If you received a gray card recently, you might want to call and verify it's legitimate since they shouldn't be issuing that type anymore.

NOBODY TOLD ME they were sending a card!!!!!! I've been waiting for a CHECK for THREE WEEKS and now I find out I'm supposed to get some debit card???? The PA unemployment system is DELIBERATELY CONFUSING people. Why wouldn't they make this CLEAR in the approval notice? Now I probably threw mine away!!!!

•When you first filed your claim, there was actually an option to select direct deposit or debit card for your payment method. The default is the debit card if you didn't specifically choose direct deposit. If you think you might have missed it, you can call UC to request a replacement card, but it might take 7-10 business days to arrive.

If you're having trouble getting through to someone at PA UC, I was in the same situation last week. After literally 47 call attempts over 3 days (yes, I counted), I found a service called Claimyr that connected me to an agent in about 20 minutes. It was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my card issue sorted out. You can see how it works at claimyr.com or check their demo video: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 They basically call for you and then connect you when they get through. Saved me days of frustration.

•Yes, it definitely worked for me. Got connected to a rep who was able to tell me exactly when my card was mailed and help me set up direct deposit for future payments.

I just went through this whole process! The card is actually kind of nice looking - blue with a silver stripe. But here's what I wish someone told me: you need to activate it as soon as you get it AND set a PIN before you can use it. You can't just swipe it at the store. Also, did anyone else notice they don't put your name on the front of the card? Just on the back. I almost thought they sent me a blank card at first.

•Ohh good to know about the activation thing!! And weird about the name being on the back. Do you remember how long it took to arrive after you were approved?

•Mine took exactly 6 business days after approval. But my cousin got hers in 4 days, so I think it depends on where you live in PA. If you're in a rural area it might take longer.

To directly answer your question: The 2025 PA UC payment cards are issued by Money Network (they switched from U.S. Bank ReliaCard earlier this year). The new cards are blue with a silver/white stripe across the middle and have the Money Network logo on them. Important things to know: 1. They arrive in a plain white envelope that many people mistake for junk mail 2. Average arrival time is 5-10 business days after claim approval 3. You must activate the card by calling the number on the sticker 4. You can switch to direct deposit any time through your PA UC dashboard 5. If you think you missed it, wait at least 10 business days before requesting a replacement You can also check your claim status online to see if a payment has been issued yet - that's a good indicator that the card has been mailed.

Just wanted to add my experience - I got my new blue Money Network card about 2 weeks ago. The envelope it comes in is really plain and thin, so I almost threw it away thinking it was a credit card offer! It just says "Important Financial Information" on the outside. Also, when you activate it, make sure you have your SSN ready because they ask for it during the phone activation process. The whole thing took me about 5 minutes once I got through. Hope this helps!

•That's really good to know about the envelope saying "Important Financial Information" - I probably would have tossed that too! Thanks for the heads up about having your SSN ready for activation. Did you have any issues using it right after activation or did you need to wait?

Just wanted to share that I received my PA UC Money Network card yesterday and can confirm it's the blue one with the silver stripe that others mentioned. Mine took exactly 7 business days from approval to arrival. One thing I didn't see mentioned - when you call to activate it, they also ask for your date of birth and zip code, not just SSN. Also, the card number starts with 5573 if anyone wants to double-check they got the right one. The activation was quick once I had all the info ready!
