PA UC Money Network card - what does it look like in mail? Approved but didn't get direct deposit
Finally got some good news today! After 4 months of waiting in limbo, my PA unemployment claim was approved and they gave me a payment date for next Tuesday. I was SO RELIEVED until I called the UC hotline to double-check about my payment and the rep told me they sent me a debit card instead of using the direct deposit info I definitely entered when I first applied! Now I'm checking my mail obsessively. Does anyone know what the PA unemployment Money Network card looks like in the mail? Is it in a plain envelope or does it say UC on it? I use informed delivery and want to make sure I don't accidentally throw it away thinking it's junk mail. I'm already nervous about how long it'll take to actually get the funds once the card arrives.

it comes in a plain white envelope with a return address from tennessee. super easy to miss tbh. says money network on the return adress i think? definitely doesn't say PA unemployment anywhere on the envelope

•Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for a Tennessee envelope. Did yours take long to arrive after your payment date?

The Money Network card comes in a white envelope that looks like generic mail - this is intentional for security reasons. The return address will be from Money Network/MetaBank in Tennessee. A few important things to know: 1. The card typically arrives 7-10 business days after your payment is processed 2. You can activate it immediately when it arrives by calling the number on the sticker 3. You can set up direct deposit from the card to your bank account through the Money Network app or website 4. Future payments will automatically go to this same card If you want to switch back to direct deposit for future payments, you'll need to update your payment method in your dashboard, but any payments already processed will still go to the card.

•This happened to me too but I never got anything in the mail and ended up having to call and request a replacement. Took like 3 extra weeks to get my money. So frustrating!!

Are you SURE you entered direct deposit info? I thought I did too but turns out I missed checking the final confirmation box. The PA UC system is so confusing! When I talked to them they said if you don't complete ALL the steps for direct deposit, they default to sending the card.

•I'm pretty sure I did, but honestly the whole application process was so stressful that I might have missed something. I just wish they'd make it clearer or send a confirmation email about your payment method.

The Money Network card comes in a very plain white envelope that's easy to miss. Here's my advice after dealing with this exact situation: - Check your mail daily (the informed delivery helps) - The envelope will have a return address from Money Network in Tennessee - Once you get it, activate it immediately by calling the number on the sticker - You can transfer the money to your bank account once it's activated - Set up the Money Network mobile app to manage the card If you want future payments to go to direct deposit instead, you need to go to your dashboard and update your payment preferences BEFORE your next biweekly claim is processed. The change won't affect payments already in process.

•When I was struggling to get through to PA UC about my missing card last year, I used a service called Claimyr that got me connected to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days redialing. Saved me so much frustration! They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 and the website is claimyr.com. Totally worth it when you're dealing with card issues and need to talk to someone right away.

•That's exactly what I'm worried about! Did they say if it had any special markings at all?

This whole Money Network card thing is a JOKE! I've been through this nightmare twice now. They claim you can switch to direct deposit online but somehow it never takes effect. Just another way they make it harder for us to get OUR MONEY. And god forbid if you need a replacement card - that's ANOTHER 7-10 business days. The entire PA unemployment system is designed to be as difficult as possible!!

•I understand the frustration, but you can actually transfer the funds from your Money Network card to your bank account once you activate it. Look for the transfer option in the Money Network app or website - it usually takes 1-3 business days for the transfer to complete.

Just wondering - once you get your card, does PA unemployment automatically keep sending payments to that card? Or do I need to reactivate something for biweekly payments? This is my first time on unemployment and I'm so confused by all the different steps.

•Once you have the Money Network card, all future payments will automatically be added to that same card as long as you continue filing your biweekly claims correctly. The card stays active for 3 years. If you want to switch to direct deposit, you need to update your payment method in your dashboard, but any payments already processed will still go to the card.

•Thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting 4 months for my claim to process, so I guess another 12 days won't kill me... though it might kill my credit score with these late payments piling up.
