How long will PA UC claim stay in Review after monetary redetermination letter? (6 weeks now)
I received my monetary redetermination letter back in January, and my claim is STILL showing 'In Review' status in the PA UC portal. It's been 6 weeks already! I thought getting the monetary redetermination letter meant things were moving forward, but nothing has changed. I've been filing my weekly claims but haven't received a single payment. Has anyone experienced this long review period after getting their redetermination? Is this normal or should I be concerned? I've tried calling but can't get through to anyone. Starting to get really anxious as bills are piling up.

mine was in review for almost 8 weeks after i got that letter!! the PA UC system is SO BROKEN! they expect us to survive with no income while they take their sweet time reviewing our claims. i called literally 47 times and couldnt get through to anyone. RIDICULOUS!!! i finally got my payments but they never explained why it took so long. good luck!!

•8 weeks?! That's insane. Did you do anything special that finally got it moving or did it just randomly start processing?

The monetary redetermination letter only confirms your financial eligibility. Your claim could be under review for other non-monetary eligibility factors like job separation reason, work search compliance, or identity verification. Check your dashboard for any action items or correspondence that might explain what's causing the delay. While 6 weeks is longer than ideal, it's unfortunately not uncommon in the current backlog situation.

•Thank you for explaining. I don't see any action items in my dashboard, and I've been doing all my work search activities. Should I just keep waiting or is there something specific I should do?

•Just double-checked and there's nothing in my inbox or spam folder. My dashboard doesn't have any alerts either. So frustrating!

I was in the exact same situation last month. Got my redetermination letter but then nothing happened for weeks. I was pulling my hair out trying to call them with no luck - busy signals or getting disconnected after waiting forever. I finally found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to an actual UC agent in about 35 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. The agent found that my claim had been stuck in a verification queue that shouldn't have taken that long, and they pushed it through right away. Got paid the following week with all my backpay.

I work with unemployment claims professionally, and here's what you need to know: When your claim shows "In Review" after a monetary redetermination, it typically means there's a non-monetary eligibility issue being investigated. The most common causes are: 1. Separation issue (how your employment ended) 2. Work search compliance verification 3. Identity verification backlog 4. Employer protest to your claim The PA system can take 4-8 weeks to resolve these issues during busy periods. For fastest resolution, you should: 1. Check your dashboard AND correspondence inbox daily 2. Continue filing weekly claims without interruption 3. Contact your state representative's office (they have special channels) 4. Get documentation ready (termination notice, work search logs, etc.) Don't give up on calling - early mornings (7:55am) tend to have better success rates.

I BET your employer is contesting it!!! That happened to me and those greedy corporations will do ANYTHING to avoid paying into the UC fund even when we DESERVE benefits. Check if you have any upcoming referee hearings scheduled!!

•How would I know if my employer is contesting it? Would there be something showing in my portal about a hearing? I left on good terms (position was eliminated), so I'd be surprised if they contested it.

Good news - if your position was eliminated, that's a clear qualification for benefits in Pennsylvania. In this case, I suspect your claim might be caught in the routine backlog rather than a specific issue. One thing to try: send a message through the PA UC portal's messaging system specifically asking what's causing the delay and requesting expedited processing due to financial hardship. Sometimes this can flag your claim for review. Keep filing those weekly certifications so when it does resolve, you'll get all backpay owed.

•I'll try sending that message right now. I didn't know you could request expedited processing - hopefully that helps! And yes, I've been filing every week without fail.

Good advice above. If the portal message doesn't get results in 3-4 days, I'd seriously consider using Claimyr or contacting your state rep. When I used Claimyr, I finally got someone who explained exactly what was happening with my claim. The peace of mind alone was worth it after weeks of silence. Sometimes these claims get stuck in digital limbo and just need a human to push them along.

•I sent the message through the portal last night but haven't heard anything. I think I'll try contacting my state rep tomorrow, and if that doesn't work, I might look into Claimyr. Thanks everyone for the help - at least I know I'm not alone in this frustrating situation!

I'm in week 7 of review status after getting my monetary redetermination letter! This is absolutely maddening - I've been doing everything right, filing weekly, checking for messages constantly, and still nothing. My savings are completely depleted at this point. I tried calling 15+ times this week alone and either get busy signals or sit on hold for 2+ hours before getting disconnected. The system is clearly broken when people who qualify for benefits have to wait months just to get basic answers. Going to try the state rep route next - hopefully someone in government actually cares that we're struggling out here while bureaucracy moves at a snail's pace.
