PA UC approval after 8 weeks but no payment date - Will I get paid after my next weekly claim?

After waiting for what felt like FOREVER (8 weeks in 'under review' status), my PA UC claim was finally approved yesterday! I'm so relieved but also confused because there's no payment date or transaction number showing in my portal. All the issues are marked as cleared though. Does this mean I'll receive my back payments when I file my weekly claim this Sunday? Or will I only get this upcoming week? I'm trying to figure out when money will actually hit my account because I've got bills piling up. Anyone been through this after a long review period?

Congrats on the approval! When mine was approved after being in review for about 6 weeks last year, I had to wait until after my next weekly certification before any payments processed. The back payments showed up about 3 business days after I filed that next weekly claim. Make sure you answer all the questions correctly on Sunday and you should see both your back payments and the new week show up as 'payment issued' by Wednesday or Thursday.

Thank you!!! That's exactly what I needed to know. So the back payments should process automatically once I submit my weekly claim? I won't need to call or do anything special for those weeks?

Oh no, that's what I'm afraid of! Did they explain why it took 2 more weeks even after approval? Did you have to do anything special to get the back payments?

The system is designed to release payments after the next weekly certification when a claim comes out of review status. Here's what typically happens: 1. Your claim is approved and issues are cleared 2. You submit your next weekly certification 3. The system processes your back payments along with the current week 4. Payment dates typically appear 1-2 business days after certification 5. Funds are released to your designated payment method 2-3 business days after that If you don't see payment dates appearing by Tuesday or Wednesday after you certify, that's when you should contact them. Make sure you've set up your payment method (direct deposit or Money Network card) in the system.

This is SO helpful, thank you! I do have direct deposit set up already. I'll watch for the payment dates to appear by Wednesday and then contact them if nothing shows up.

I had the same thing happen in January! Waited 7 weeks for approval then had to wait another 3 weeks because they found ANOTHER issue after clearing the first one. Something about my employer response or whatever. The system is such a mess. Don't count on that money until it's actually in your account.

That's terrifying! Did you have to do anything to resolve that second issue, or did it just clear on its own eventually?

If you've been struggling to reach anyone at PA UC, I had a similar situation last month and was about to lose my mind with the constant busy signals. Found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual agent in about 30 minutes instead of spending days redialing. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 and their website is claimyr.com. The agent I spoke with was able to tell me exactly when my payments would process and confirmed all my back weeks were approved. Saved me a lot of anxiety!

Yes, it definitely worked for me. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for a week straight. Got connected to an agent who explained everything about my claim status.

One more thing to be aware of - if your claim was in review for 8 weeks, make sure you've been filing your weekly certifications this whole time, even without seeing payments. If you missed any weeks, you'll need to contact them to file those missing weeks before you'll get paid for them.

Yes! I've been filing every single Sunday without fail, even though nothing was happening. So I should have 8 weeks of back certifications in their system.

I'm literally EXACTLY where you are right now! My claim was stuck for 9 weeks and just got approved Monday. I did my weekly claim yesterday (Sunday) and checked this morning - now I can see payment dates for ALL my back weeks! They're all scheduled for deposit tomorrow. So yes, filing your weekly claim triggers the back payments processing. Just make sure you have your bank info correct in the system!!!

This gives me so much hope!! I'm filing tomorrow and will check first thing Monday morning to see if payment dates appear. So good to hear from someone in the exact same situation!

Thankfully I set up direct deposit when I first applied. At least that's one thing I did right!

Just a reminder - after you file tomorrow, give the system 24-48 hours to process and show payment dates. Don't panic if they don't show up immediately after you certify. The system usually updates overnight Sunday into Monday, but sometimes it takes until Tuesday morning.

Thank you for the reminder. I'll try to be patient (though it's really hard after waiting 8 weeks already!
