Where is unemployment right now in NY - claim status showing nothing for 2 weeks
I submitted my unemployment application two weeks ago and my claim status on the NYS Department of Labor website just shows blank. No pending, no approved, no denied - literally nothing. I can log into my.ny.gov fine but when I click on unemployment services it's like my claim doesn't exist. I tried calling the NYS Department of Labor but after waiting 45 minutes I got disconnected. Has anyone else had their claim just disappear from the system? I'm starting to panic because I have bills due and no idea where my application went.

This happened to me last month! Your claim is probably stuck in the initial processing queue. The NYS Department of Labor system has been having issues where claims don't show up immediately after submission. Check if you received any confirmation emails or reference numbers when you first applied. You'll need those to track your claim status.

dont reapply whatever you do!! that will mess everything up and delay it even more. the system is just slow right now, probably taking 2-3 weeks for claims to show up properly

I had the same issue trying to reach NYS Department of Labor by phone. Kept getting disconnected after long waits. I ended up using claimyr.com to get through to an actual agent. THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS A MESS RIGHT NOW! I've been waiting 3 weeks for my adjudication to complete and nobody at NYS Department of Labor can give me any answers. They keep saying 'it's processing' but that doesn't pay my rent! This is ridiculous that we can't even see where our claims are in the system.

For future reference, always save screenshots when you submit your unemployment application. The NYS Department of Labor system can be glitchy and having proof of submission helps if you need to call them. Also make sure you're checking the right section - sometimes claims show up under 'Benefit Programs' instead of 'Unemployment Insurance' in your my.ny.gov account.
