When will NY unemployment tax refunds arrive? Some got theirs today, mine scheduled for the 20th
I just checked my NY unemployment account and it says my tax refund is scheduled to be deposited on the 20th of this month. I'm seeing on Twitter that a bunch of people already got their refunds today. Anyone else expecting theirs on the 20th too? Getting a little anxious since I really need this money for some overdue bills... Has anyone who had the 20th as their scheduled date received it earlier than expected?

I got mine today even though the portal said the 20th! Check your bank account - it might already be there. The system often shows the latest possible date but deposits happen in batches earlier than projected.

•Just checked again and nothing yet :( Did yours show up as pending first or just appear fully deposited? My bank usually shows pending deposits 1-2 days before they clear.

The NY unemployment tax refunds for 2025 are being processed in waves. According to the NYSDOL website, scheduled dates are the latest possible deposit date, but the actual deposit often happens 1-3 business days earlier. If your portal shows the 20th, you should receive it between now and then. Also worth noting that different banks process incoming ACH transfers on different schedules, so some people might see it sooner than others even if processed on the same day by NYSDOL.

•Chase typically processes ACH transfers overnight, so if NYSDOL sends it today, you'd likely see it tomorrow morning. If you don't see it by the 20th, you should call the tax refund hotline at 888-209-8124. Their phone lines are extremely busy though, so be prepared for a long wait.

My scheduled date was the 18th (yesterday) and STILL nothing in my account!!! This is SO typical of NYSDOL to mess up even REFUNDS that are OUR MONEY to begin with!!! Anyone else still waiting past their scheduled date???

•I was in the same situation last week - scheduled for the 12th but nothing showed up until the 14th. Don't panic yet! When I finally got through to someone on the phone, they explained that bank processing delays aren't counted in their scheduled dates. If you don't see it by Friday, then start calling.

I received mine this morning even though the portal said the 21st. They seem to be sending them out in batches based on the last digit of your SS number. My wife's is scheduled for the 23rd (her SS ends in 7) while mine ends in 2. Anyone notice a pattern with the last digit of their SS and scheduled dates?
