What day is payday for unemployment benefits in NY - when do payments hit?
I just got approved for unemployment and wondering what day is payday for unemployment here in NY? Like what day of the week do the payments usually come through? I did my first weekly claim on Monday and want to know when I should expect the money to hit my account. Also does it matter what bank you have or is it the same timing for everyone?

NYS Department of Labor typically processes payments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you filed your weekly claim on Monday, you should see the payment by Wednesday or Thursday depending on your bank. Direct deposit is usually faster than the KeyBank debit card they offer.

it depends on when you certify but usually tuesday or wednesday for me. sometimes thursday if theres a holiday

Been getting mine on Wednesdays consistently. The only time it was delayed was when there was a federal holiday on Monday and everything got pushed back a day. Make sure you're filing your weekly claim by Sunday night to avoid any delays.

For Chase specifically, I've noticed they usually post unemployment payments early Wednesday morning, sometimes even late Tuesday night. You won't get a notification from DOL when it's processed, but Chase will send you a mobile alert when the deposit hits if you have notifications enabled.
