New York Unemployment Career Centers Still Closed? Virtual Job Fair Worth It?

Getting frustrated with all these virtual meetings and online stuff. Been trying to get back to work but cant tell if the workforce centers are open yet. The virtual job fairs are useless - just feels like sending resumes into a black hole. Anyone know if any offices are open for in-person help?

Actually just went to the one in Manhattan last week - they're open now! You need an appointment tho, can't just walk in like before 🙄

used claimyr.com to get through to someone. costs $20 but better than waiting on hold forever

Hey guys I found a way to actually talk to someone! Used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls and waits on hold for you. Yeah it costs like $20 but totally worth it to actually get answers. Check out this video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Pro tip: Most career centers ARE open now but here's what you need to know: - Hours are usually 9-4 Monday-Friday - Appointments required (no walk-ins) - Bring ID and work search records - Mask still required in some locations - Some services still virtual only Best way to get an appointment is calling through claimyr.com since the regular line is always jammed. They also do resume workshops in person now which are WAY better than the virtual ones. Don't waste time with virtual fairs - networking events and temp agencies are your best bet rn. The system is slowly getting back to normal but its not 100% there yet.
