Need live person at KeyBank for NY unemployment debit card issues - any direct numbers?
Does anyone have a direct number to reach an actual person at KeyBank about my NY unemployment debit card? I've been trying for days through their automated system but keep getting stuck in loops. My benefits were deposited 3 days ago according to my payment history, but nothing's showing up on my card. I've tried the number on the back of the card and the one on the NYSDOL website but can't get past the robots. Desperately need to speak to a REAL human! Thanks in advance for any help.

I had to deal with KeyBank last month for a similar issue. Try 866-295-2955 and keep pressing 0 repeatedly when the automated system starts talking. Sometimes it works to get a representative. If that doesn't work, try pressing 0 then 2 then 0 again. Took me about 15 minutes of trying different combinations, but I finally got through. Good luck!

•Thank you SO much! I'll try that sequence right now. Did you have to verify a bunch of info when you finally got through? Just want to make sure I have everything ready.

•Seriously! I was on hold for over an hour yesterday before I just gave up. Did you ever figure out how to reliably reach someone? I'm about to lose my mind.

I found this service called Claimyr that helped me get through to an actual person at NYSDOL (not KeyBank specifically) when I was having issues with my claim. It costs a bit, but it saved me hours of frustration. They connected me to an agent in about 20 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. You can check them out at claimyr.com - they have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE After I finally talked to NYSDOL, they were able to tell me exactly what was going on with my KeyBank card and fixed the issue on their end. Might be worth trying if you're desperate!

•That sounds promising! Did they actually connect you directly to someone or just help you navigate the phone tree? I'm wondering if NYSDOL can even help with the KeyBank side of things.

•They connected me directly to a live agent! And yes, in my case, the issue was actually on NYSDOL's end - they hadn't properly processed the payment release to KeyBank even though it showed as paid in my payment history. The NYSDOL agent was able to fix it and the money showed up on my card the next day. Worth a try since KeyBank is so impossible to reach.

i think the problm is that ur payment might be pending still sometimes it says it went thru but theres actually a hold for a few days my uncle had this happen and it took like 5 business days to actually show up on his card even tho the website said it was paid already

•That's interesting - maybe I just need to wait longer? The payment history definitely shows "paid" as of Monday, and now it's Thursday. How many days did your uncle end up waiting before the money showed up?

KeyBank debit card issues are frustrating but there are a few approaches that might help: 1. For direct KeyBank support, call 866-295-2955 and use these options: Press 1 for English, enter your card number, then press 0 three times in succession when they ask for verification. Many systems are programmed to transfer to a representative after multiple invalid entries. 2. If that doesn't work, call NYSDOL at 888-209-8124 and explain that your payment is showing as processed but not appearing on your KeyBank card. They can verify if the payment was actually released to KeyBank or if there's a processing delay. 3. The most reliable solution is switching to direct deposit if possible. Log into your NY.gov account, go to payment options, and set up direct deposit to your personal bank account. All future payments will bypass KeyBank entirely. Keep in mind that standard processing time is 2-3 business days after a payment shows as "released" in the system, but bank holidays or system issues can extend this timeframe.

•This is super helpful - thank you! I didn't realize I could just switch to direct deposit. That sounds WAY better than dealing with this card nightmare every week. I'll try your KeyBank number trick first to resolve this current missing payment, then definitely set up direct deposit for future payments.

I've been collecting NY unemployment for 2 months now and had a similar issue with my KeyBank card in February. What I discovered is that sometimes there's a security hold if there's unusual activity. In my case, I had tried using the card at 3 different ATMs in one day (because the first two weren't working properly). This triggered some kind of fraud alert. You might want to check if you've done anything that could be considered "unusual" - like trying to withdraw a larger amount than normal, using the card in a different location, or making multiple transactions in a short time. When I finally reached someone at KeyBank (took forever!), they told me the security department had put a hold on my funds. They transferred me to that department who verified my identity and released the money immediately. Hope this helps! The situation is incredibly frustrating, I know.

•That's really interesting and could absolutely be what's happening. I did try to withdraw a larger amount than usual last week because I needed to pay rent. I'll definitely mention this when I finally get through to someone. Thank you!

Just wanted to follow up - were you able to get through to someone at KeyBank? If not, another trick I've heard works is calling right when they open in the morning. Their customer service opens at 8am EST Monday-Friday, and apparently the wait times are much shorter if you call right at 8.

•I FINALLY got through! You were right about pressing 0 repeatedly - eventually it transferred me to a queue. Waited about 30 minutes but finally spoke to someone. Turns out there was a security hold on my account because of the larger withdrawal attempt last week, just like someone else mentioned might be happening. They removed the hold and said the money should be available within 24 hours. But I'm definitely switching to direct deposit after this nightmare. Thanks everyone for your help!
