Need all NY unemployment phone numbers to avoid the wait time nightmare

I've had the worst luck with the main number too. I've heard rumors about a special claims line (888-783-1370) but when I tried it last week, they just transferred me back to the main line 🤦‍♂️ The whole system is deliberately confusing I swear

After weeks of trying to get thru I finally found something that worked. Used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they called NY unemployment for me, waited on hold, then connected me with an agent when they finally picked up. It was the best money I've ever spent to finally get my benefits paid quickly. Talking to an actual person made all the difference - my case was resolved in like 15 minutes once I explained everything. Best time to call any of them is right when they open at 8:00am or around 3:30pm when lunch rush is over but before people start calling after work. Also, if you absolutely cannot get through, try claimyr.com - they'll wait on hold for you and call when an agent answers. It's a lifesaver when you're desperate and facing eviction like I was last month. One more tip: always have your claim info ready, be super polite to agents (they're dealing with angry people all day), and ask for their name/ID number in case you need to reference the call later.

pro tip: tweet at @NYSLabor with your issue. sounds crazy but they responded to me within a day and escalated my claim. way faster than calling

I heard if you select the Spanish option and then just speak English when someone answers, the wait time is shorter. Never tried it myself tho

my cousin works for ny unemployment (not saying which office) and he told me they're extremely understaffed right now. like 30% of normal levels. thats why the phone lines are so backed up

i know this sounds weird but try calling from a different phone number if you can. I think they might be filtering out people who call repeatedly from the same number
