Need all NY unemployment phone numbers to avoid the wait time nightmare
I've been trying to resolve an issue with my benefits for almost 3 weeks now. The main NY unemployment number (888-209-8124) is absolutely useless - I spent 5 hours on hold yesterday before getting disconnected. I know there are supposedly other numbers that have shorter wait times or specialized departments that can actually help. Does anyone have a complete list of all the different numbers we can call? I heard there's a technical support line and maybe regional offices with direct lines? Also, has anyone had luck calling at specific times of day? I'm desperate to get this resolved since my rent is coming up and I'm completely broke after being laid off from my warehouse job in April.

I've had the worst luck with the main number too. I've heard rumors about a special claims line (888-783-1370) but when I tried it last week, they just transferred me back to the main line 🤦♂️ The whole system is deliberately confusing I swear

After weeks of trying to get thru I finally found something that worked. Used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they called NY unemployment for me, waited on hold, then connected me with an agent when they finally picked up. It was the best money I've ever spent to finally get my benefits paid quickly. Talking to an actual person made all the difference - my case was resolved in like 15 minutes once I explained everything. Check out this video that explains how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% worked for me. I was skeptical too but after 3 weeks of trying everything else I was desperate. Got a real agent in about 2 hours while I just went about my day.

•I mean technically you don't HAVE to pay, but I spent like 40+ hours trying to get through myself with no luck. Worth every penny to get my $3400 in back benefits cleared.

For those wondering, here are all the NY unemployment numbers I've collected: • Main Claims: 888-209-8124 • Telephone Claims: 888-783-1370 • Direct Payment Line: 833-491-0632 (good for payment issues) • Claims Processing: 877-358-5306 • Pin Reset Issues: 888-783-1366 The direct payment line has been most helpful for me. Best time to call any of them is right when they open at 8:00am or around 3:30pm when lunch rush is over but before people start calling after work. Also, if you absolutely cannot get through, try claimyr.com - they'll wait on hold for you and call when an agent answers. It's a lifesaver when you're desperate and facing eviction like I was last month. One more tip: always have your claim info ready, be super polite to agents (they're dealing with angry people all day), and ask for their name/ID number in case you need to reference the call later.

•Really? I used it last week and got through. Maybe it depends on what kind of claim you have?

Am I the only one who thinks its crazy we gotta jump through all these hoops just to get OUR MONEY that WE PAID INTO THE SYSTEM FOR YEARS?? The whole unemployment system is designed to make us give up. Don't let them win.

•PREACH. I worked 12 years straight paying into this system and now I need help for once and they make it impossible 😡

•its by design... fewer people who can navigate the system = less money they have to pay out

•exactly! and then politicians brag about how they "saved money" in the unemployment system 🤡

I heard if you select the Spanish option and then just speak English when someone answers, the wait time is shorter. Never tried it myself tho

•I tried this and got an agent who only spoke Spanish lol... didn't work out so well for me

my cousin works for ny unemployment (not saying which office) and he told me they're extremely understaffed right now. like 30% of normal levels. thats why the phone lines are so backed up

After 2 months of trying everything, I finally got through using claimyr.com - it was literally the only thing that worked for me. They called for me and I just waited for them to connect me with an agent. Got my backpay of $4200 released the same day! 💯

i know this sounds weird but try calling from a different phone number if you can. I think they might be filtering out people who call repeatedly from the same number

I've been dealing with the same nightmare for weeks! The system is absolutely broken. I tried calling every single number on that list @Luca Conti posted and still couldn't get through. Finally broke down and used that Claimyr service everyone keeps mentioning - honestly wasn't sure if it was legit but I was desperate. They actually got me connected to an agent in about 90 minutes and I got my pending claims sorted out. Cost me $20 but saved my sanity and got me $2800 in back benefits. Sometimes you just gotta pay to play unfortunately 😔

•Glad it worked out for you! $20 is nothing compared to losing $2800 in benefits. I'm still on the fence about paying for a service when this should be free, but hearing all these success stories is making me seriously consider it. How long did the whole process take from start to finish once you signed up?
