NYSDOL Claim Status Update: Tips for Getting Through?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a status update on my unemployment claim with NYSDOL. I've been waiting for what feels like forever and I'm getting really frustrated. Has anyone had any luck getting through to them lately? Any tips on what to say when I finally get someone on the phone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get an update on my claim for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them. 🤬

I heard early morning is best, like right when they open. But tbh, it's still a crapshoot. 🎲

I actually found a method that worked for me to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but for me it was worth it. I was losing my mind trying to get through. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know? 💁♂️

Can you give more details about how it worked? Did you actually get your issue resolved?

Yeah, so basically you pay, then they start calling for you. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. I got my issue sorted in like 15 minutes once I was talking to someone. Saved me days of frustration tbh

Here's what worked for me when I finally got through: 1. Be super polite, even if you're frustrated. The person on the other end deals with angry people all day. 2. Have all your info ready - claim number, dates, any correspondence you've received. 3. Ask specifically what's holding up your claim. Sometimes it's just one small thing. 4. If they can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor or claims specialist. 5. Take notes during the call, including the name of who you spoke to. 6. Follow up with an email summarizing the call if they give you an email address. Hope this helps someone! Good luck out there, we're all in this together. 💪

Great advice! I'd add: if they say they'll call you back, ask for a specific timeframe and what number they'll be calling from. helps avoid missing important calls

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous we have to jump through all these hoops just to get basic info about our claims? The system is broken af 🤡

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're stuck in the stone age or something. How hard is it to set up a decent online system?

For real tho. Other states have way better systems. NY needs to get it together

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representative? I've heard sometimes they can help push things along.

Pro tip: if you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try reaching out via their social media accounts. Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot! 🤷♀️

I had luck with Twitter, but I've heard Facebook can work too. Just be careful not to share any personal info publicly!

Guys, I'm legit about to lose my mind. Been waiting 3 months for an update. Anyone else in the same boat? How are y'all staying sane?

3 months? That's rough buddy. I'm at 2 months and already pulling my hair out. Hang in there! 😩

Oof, that's brutal. I've been distracting myself with free online courses. Might as well learn something while we wait, right? 🤓
