NYDOL: Endless hold times when trying to edit claim. Any tips?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to edit my unemployment claim but I've been on hold forever. Anyone else dealing with this? How long did it take you to get through to someone at NYDOL? Any tips for getting this done faster?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was on hold for over 3 hours last week trying to do the same thing. The system is so backed up its ridiculous. Have you tried calling right when they open? That seemed to work better for me.

3 hours? You got lucky! I've been trying for days and can't even get put on hold. Just constant busy signals 😤

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it last month. Felt weird paying for something like this, but desperate times call for desperate measures 🤷‍♂️

Pro tip: If you're trying to edit your claim, sometimes its easier to do it online through your account on the NYDOL website. Have you checked if thats an option for the change you need to make?

lol good luck. I've been trying to fix an issue with my claim for weeks. The whole system is a joke. Maybe we should all just learn to code instead 🤡

Bruh 💀 I actually did start learning Python while waiting on hold. Might have a new career by the time I get through

This is too real. I'm in the same boat, might as well pick up a new skill while we wait for the government to get its act together

Here's what I've learned after dealing with NYDOL for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Try different times of day. Early morning and late afternoon seem to have shorter wait times. 3. Have all your info ready before you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim ID, and employment history. 4. Be polite to the rep when you finally get through. They're dealing with a lot too. 5. If possible, use the online portal for simple changes. Save phone calls for complex issues. 6. Consider using a paid service like others have mentioned if you're really stuck. 7. Document everything. Write down who you talked to and what they said. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but you'll get it sorted eventually!

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.
