EDD Claims Stuck in Limbo - Anyone Actually Get Through on the Phone?

Hey everyone, I've been waiting on my unemployment claims for what feels like forever. I've been trying to get through to someone on the phone, but it's been impossible. I'm in the queue now, but it's been hours and still nothing. Anyone else in the same boat? Any tips on how to actually get someone on the line?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't even want to help us 🙄

Weeks? Try months! I swear they're just ignoring us at this point.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried everything. Early morning, late afternoon, doesn't seem to matter. It's always busy or I get disconnected 😤

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's ridiculous. We shouldn't have to pay to get help with our claims.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. Worth every penny imo.

Can you explain more about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure! Basically, it's an automated system that calls EDD for you and navigates the phone tree. When it detects a human on the line, it calls your phone and connects you. Saved me hours of frustration.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through.

This whole system is a joke. They expect us to survive on nothing while they take their sweet time processing claims. It's criminal!

Preach! 🙌 I'm about to lose my apartment because of these delays.

Maybe we should organize a protest or something. This is getting out of hand.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls and attempts to contact them. 3. Use social media. Sometimes tweeting at them can get a response. 4. Check your online account regularly for updates. 5. If possible, try to speak with a tier 2 representative. 6. Consider reaching out to your local assemblyperson or state senator for help. 7. Join Facebook groups or forums dedicated to EDD issues. Sometimes you can get good tips there. Hope this helps someone. Stay strong, we're all in this together!

What's the difference between a tier 1 and tier 2 rep?

Tier 2 reps have more authority to make changes to your claim. They can often resolve issues that tier 1 reps can't.

Anyone else notice that the website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

omg yes! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna try to log in 😂

I heard they're super backed up because of all the fraud cases. Apparently, there were a ton of fake claims and now they're scrutinizing everything.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard it can sometimes get faster results.

What is this, 1995? 😂 But for real, where would you even find a fax machine these days?

There are online fax services you can use. Might be worth a shot if nothing else is working.

I'm so tired of this. I've been waiting for 3 months now. My savings are depleted, and I'm about to be evicted. The system is broken.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Have you looked into local rent assistance programs?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it. Just feeling really overwhelmed right now.
